When I lived in new orleans they had fish that would jump up out of the water and glide then go back under water. They are supposely some kind of fish from overseas.

I have a 20 gal (high) fish tank with about 14 fish (small ones, most under 1" long) and it's SMELLY!! Whew, lemme tell ya, it's pretty stinky I can smell it across the room and I just did a 100% water change, cleaned the gravel and plants, etc. last Saturday (this is Wed.) and it's already cloudy and smelly. Whatin the world??? I have another 20 gal with a separator with a Betta on each side that never gets cloudy or stinky. Any suggestions? I checked PH, alk etc and it's fine. I haven't checked the ammonia levels but can ammonia be high already and if so, would it cause this cloudy stinky problem?
Thanx

I tried using epoxy, but that never dried. Should I use the tank sealant? Something else? Also, how do I know if it is too heavy for the tank? It is a 35gallon tall tank and it is approx 16lbs of slate

I think I made a mistake by stocking my tank too fast with fish. The ammonia and nitrite levels are all o.k., but the water is cloudy, which makes me think I might have killed the beneficial bacteria inadvertently? There is a large piece of bogwood in the tank which stains the water a nice yellow color, so it might be partly that, but it seems overly cloudy. My question is, is it possible to do too many water changes? (it was like 30% every other day a while ago) or is it better to clean the filters only? If the tank has to be recycled, should I do nothing until the biofilter returns? I've been doing weekly water changes and putting in small amounts of AmQuel lately to try and get rid of the cloudiness, to no effect.
