ick guard by jungle. you can get it at pet stores or walmart. Treat them fast or your fish will all have it. follow the directions i think its a teaspoon for every 10 gallons of water, remove the carbon from the filter, do a 10% water change and repeat either 24 or 48 hours later until ick is gone. After final water change replace carbon. email me with questions. good luck.

It does sound like your fish has ick, you can tell by the small white dots. Ick can spread very quickly in a large fish tank. What you need to do is get treatment immediately. I have used several different types, and they all seem to work pretty equally. If you go to a large grocery store or pet store, you should be able to buy a small bottle for $2-$4. The directions on the back will tell you how many drops to use per gallon of water. Be sure to clean out your filters, especially if you have charcoal ones. Good luck!

Hello there, I had pretty good luck with Mardel's liquid treatments. They have little particles in them that they call 'bio-spheres' I think that are supposed to attach to the fish to make them heal faster. The spots on my large goldfish cleared up in a week or so. Ick may effect the rest of your fish if you don't do something about it pretty fast, but there are plenty of medicines out there to pick from and most are pretty inexpensive.

Yup, it sounds like ick. This is life threatening often to the fish, and hard to cure all together. One thing to prevent ick is to make sure to maintain the water temperature at a steady level. Variations of even a couple degrees day to day will cause ick.

The one thing that you should remember is to follow the direction on the labels of the medications you buy. Having such a large tank I feel compelled to remind you to remove all plants and invertibrates if you have any before medicating as they don't do very well with the medications.

fresh water aquarium salt, (1tbs per every 5 gallons water) and turn the heat up inthe tankto 82. Ich the change insalt kills the ich and it cannot live in warmer temperatures. Just make sure it isfresh water salt and you have ample airation , whentemp is raised it take up more of the air in the water. You should notice a difference in thef ish in1 day.

I used the JUNGLE brand and it worked really good."Ick guard"... you need to do a water change between treatments and take the carbon off the filter.... but It worked great...
Other options will be to raise your water temp.... Ick parasite cannot survive high temp... Look for whats your fish's temperature requirements and put it up to the highest he can stand... that will kill the parasite...
Best wishes
