Fish - October 2006

I have a 5 gal tank with motor & the algae,ph, & alkalinity is high, WHAT SHOULD I DO??? I am now down to 3 guppies & got 1 pleco today. The tank is new & has been running for 19 days. I treat it with(Start Right Conditioner) (Bullseye 7.0) (API Ammo Lock) I got a gravel vaccum today. WHATS WRONG HERE???

I have a half barrel with a liner in it for goldfish. All I have is a pump bringing water to the top and thru a piece of batting.

Im testing every 6 hours , no water change ,feeding the fish 4 times a day , medicated the fish incase if their is any diseas with general aid, added 2 extra sponge filter with air pump.

OK. I have lost another betta. Let's try to figure this out.

2.5g tank. Betta lived only for a few days.

I checked chem levels after I found him in the filter.

Ammonia: 0ppm
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 0
PH: 6.8
Temp: 77f

Why can't I keep a betta alive?

how long would it take to finish the nitrogine cycle,its been 4 days and no sign of amonia ,remember I aded 2 gold fish 3 days ago.
nitrate = 0 amonia =0 nitrite=0

it is a commom gold fish 28 cents at walmart (lol) and i put him in his bowl (lotsa room/oxygen) and he doesnt swim around he just sinks to the bottom or he swims to a diffrent corner and goes to sleep ALL DAY LONG! and sumtimes he eats but... is this normal?? i feed him normally and he just sinks to the bottom! is it normal?

we bought a 40L fish tank done all the proper treatments to the water and both fish have dies took a sample of water to the person we bought the fish from the results r as follows ph 8.4+ kh 14 nh4 undetectable nitrate 0.1 please can someone help me with the problem i have is it that my tap water is to hard.

ive got a freshwater (coldwater) small fish tank with a little electric filter i change about half the tanks water every 4 days or so but the water goes really ugly and i cant even see the fish from how brown it is ! any advice on how to change that ?
