My friend's dog, Max is really aggresive towards me. He didn't used to be. She says Max is only about 8 years old. He is a big, sorta fat black lab. He used to be really sweet and when I came overto my friend's house, he would just go and lay down. Now, he looks at me with a creepy evil look in his eyes and growls like he is going to EAT me! I don't know what's wrong! He even bit my friend's mom, taking a small chunk out of her skin. It really sad, but it scares me! What's the matter and how can we fix it??? Thanks!

Recently, my puppy lost an interest in eating. Few days ago we started to give him dry food. He ate it fine for a couple of days. He actually liked it i thought. Now he doesnt eat neither moist nor dry food. Once in a while he comes and takes a small bite, but not alot. His behavior didnt change. He still runs around as usually. Also, it seems like from time to time he has diarhea. Should i be worried?

I've never tried to actually BUY a dog before. I just adopt them. When buying a new dog or a puppy perhaps (3 months), what are some of the questions you need to ask the seller to ensure that the dog is purebred and is healthy?

my puppies are: 4month old border collie mix (35 lbs), and 6 month old jack russell/beagle mix(20 lbs).
They went through petco puppy training (i know...not the BEST)
They were well behaved inside and try to please.
Then................you go outside (dundundunduuunnn)

The jackrussell/terrier is like a jack rabbit. The border collie is..a border collie herding the jack rabbit.

I have tried stopping the walk. I have tried turning in the other direction. I use bribary (a special dog treat only for walks). I TRIED to make them lay down on the walk when, they willnot do it.
they need to be walked 2 hrs a day total. separate walks are NOT ideal..PLEASE HELP ME!!!! i dont want to spend another $100 on training..i want to take them to agility classes when they can behave..HELP!! thanks.

my dog is 8 years old, a westie we got her when she was a puppy from a breeder so she wasnt abused so there's like no reason for her to have food agression and its weird like once you give her food she'll wait for you to pretend to want it and then'll she'll start eating. she'll let you pet har but she starts eating faster and then if you keep petting her she'll growl and then probably bite and a week ago i gave her a bone for her b-day and even if i came up to her while i had it she'd put her head low, protectively over the bone and growl and bare her lips at me. any help on how to make her stop thanks

Ok, I have an 11 month old American Bulldog female and a 3 year old male. They did not tie...first off....at all. At most he was inserted for less than 1 minute.....! They are never allowed to be alone....they are crated seperately. I went inside for 1 minute when they were outside and thats it. They are watched all the time. She was in heat for 2 weeks before he got his shot. But now her teats are a bit swollen....and I have NEVER had a female dog before her. Do their teats become larger after heat? Or do I need to take her to the vet? Also, if she is pregnant...is there anything that can be done to STOP the pregnancy? Isn't she too young to bear healthy pups? I would appreciate adult answers......not smart a$$ out to prove their dominance or not some PETA freak out to kill every human....

I tried giving her treats and hugs/petting when she is calm and not chasing the kitten, I also tried spraying her with water whenever she chased after the kitten. Both methods don't work and I've been doing it for two weeks. What other methods can I try to get my dog to stop chasing after the kitten?

Currently they are both kept in seperate rooms but we try to keep them in the same room for at least 4-5 hours each day. Doing that did help the kitten get used to the dog because the kitten is now not afraid of the dog anymore, just annoyed when the dog chases him. The kitten is smart enough to climb on tables or other unreachable places from the dog but I would really like to find a way to make the dog stop chasing the kitten.

There are some purebred Golden retriever peppies for sale, the parents are very calm, the puppies of course are very cute! they go home at eight weeks, with their shots, worming, and a small puppy package, ( food, leash, toys, collar, bowls ect.) they are raised with kids, cats, and their parents, they are all playfull, and healthy. the parents are not registered, they never got the papers for the male, and the female's dad wasn't registered. The prices are 400 for a male, and 450 for a female. What do you think? Of course the puppy would just be for a family dog/ pet. The people said if it didn't work out they would take the puppy back, and give the money back, if its an adult, they will take the dog back and rehome it, and give back the rehoming fee. So get the puppy or not?

I've noticed quite an odd behavior in my dog.. he LOVES to drink bathwater and will constantly lick people, whether or not they're wet or soapy, while they're in the bath, even though he has fresh water in his bowl. This was of course stopped by closing the door, but why on earth..?

What is your opinion on spay/ neutering? Yes/no? Why do you think people should/ shouldn't fix their dog. In your opinion! And no thumbs down, everyone is entitled to their own opinion!

Our Golden Retriever of 11 years passed away yesterday. She was very ill and we had to put her down.

My wife has had many medical issues over the past 7 years... and was at times bed ridden and house bound.

She wakes up searching her Thalia.... how can I ease the pain for her ... getting a new dog right now is not an option

I learned about flea treats on Yahoo Answers, and ordered them right away. They keep the fleas off the dog, so they don't get bit in the first place while waiting for the Frontline to kill. They seem to be working great. Have been using them for only two weeks. However, my dog no longer wants to eat, at all in the morning, but does eat his evening meal. He is 17 months, and always had an appetite in a.m. Another thing I'm noticing is he is alot more hyper, especially in the evening. They do have B vitamins listed, which could be the energy. Just curious, if anyone else has had good results, or any side effects or changes in behavior?
