Usual the mother keeps the clean. I would not use anything harse on them. I use to use baby shampoo on my puppy when it was 7 weeks old.

I have bathed my pups as young as 3 weeks old. Get a mild puppy shampoo and dilute it. Again keep the water and shampoo out of the eyes. I use a washcloth to clean the face. I also would blow dry them. Make sure they aren't exposed to any drafts.

Never, ever bath a puppy. If you are completely changing them 3 times a day then I am sure that they are very clean. My puppies are always bedded on wood shavings which are warm to lie on, soak up moisture and smell fresh. At 5 weeks you have to expect huge amounts of pee and poo and puppies will always smell like puppies. You will not have them much longer so I think you will have to put up with it. It is part and parcel of having a litter and if you find it unpleasant then I suggest that you don't repeat the experience.

It should be fine giving them a bath at 5 weeks. I don't recommend using shampoo though, just warm water. I just gave 7 6 week old puppies baths today :)

You need to start when mom stops. That is when the pups start eating on their own. @ 5 weeks I use plain warm water and no soap/shampoo of any kind. The pups will get the squirts if you don't get all the soap rinsed out.

I would bath them using dawn dish detergent that is watered down. Care and not get any water or soap in their eyes and ears. The best thing to do for the face and head is to just wet a wash cloth with water only and rub their heads. Watch for them possibly licking the water and soap because it could upset their stomachs. Other than that you should be fine.

You can give them a bath with mild shampoo, make sure that you blow dry them as well. Keep water and shampoo away from their ears and eyes.

they're ready, warm water, gentel soap, make sure they stay indoors, especially during winter and dry them with a silent blowdryer so that they dont get scared, establishing early habits for showers will get them to get used to them earlier
