Iv heard rumors that it was not just wrong of the breeder i got my puppy from to give her away at 7 weeks, but that it is even illegal. Is this true??? Iv had her 3 days. She was born on OCT 28th. I live in Tennessee... If anyone knows of a law like this please send me a link or some proof. Thanks!

I have a dog who is my "Lassie". He is a well-trained, reliable, level-headed 4.5 lb Chihuahua that I put a lot of time and effort into training He is almost 8 years old now, a former therapy dog, has earned his CGC, and is our family dog. He has helped us in raising our own four children - taking it upon himself to stand watch at diaper changes, sleep under the crib until baby wakes up, has happily swapped his doggie biscuits for baby's teething biscuits (baby's idea, yuck!), and goes with us everywhere we do. He can do funny tricks, and is a fabulous communicator - no one ever has to wonder what he is thinking. I can watch the kids when we are out and about and not worry about him on our outings because he is that good. He's my "Lassie" and I love him. Tell me about yours?

I got a toy poodle 3 days ago. She is 7 weeks old. Weighs 1 pound. She is a good puppy throughout the day. She is doing fairly good with her potty training. She follows me and my husband everywhere!! When she takes naps she wants to be in my lap, but i refuse to let her. I make her sleep on the floor. She usually passes out at my feet (where she is now ; ] ) ....BUT at night when im ready for bed, she REFUSES to go to sleep. Iv trired putting her in her "play pen", the bathroom, or just letting her roam free throught the house... NOTHING works! No matter what i do she WHINES and SKREIKS! Last night it lasted 10 hours!!!!!!! I read that you just had to let them whine and they would stop, but it didnt work! SHE CRIED ALL NIGHT!...I always make sure she has her bed, blanket, food water, toys, potty pad... i even put a clock that ticks by her bed, bc i heard that helped...
What do i do??
How long should it take to break her of this habit??
PLEASE HELP!!!!

I was wondering if they will make good coon hunting dogs or if trying to train them is a waste of time? Thanks for any comments. They look just like a black and tan with no treeing walker characteristics visible.

I know this is an opinon question but i'm thinking of a dog that's NOT a small little one but one that'll enjoy sporting and running with me, playing, and won't make crazy noise. Also one that dosen't have many health issues.

My dog is chewing herself raw. She is not old, and has no health conditions, and we've had her for a long while so I don't think it's because she is nervous. We haven't changed her diet, or her schedule. Nothing has been changed, but she has just suddenly started chewing on her front right paw just below the knee to the point that she is biting off the skin and bleeding.

Help is much appreciated!

How good are the remote dog collars, training collars???? I have a boxer that I would love to turn loose to run but he has a listening problem sometimes, and he jumps on people (typical boxer , you meet the front feet first flying like a wild man)... I want to get him a control collar (like an invisible fence collar but with a remote control) do they really work???? And if so what brand is the best?

I used to volunteer at a local humane society when I was in high school, and I have adopted animals from them. I was looking into a possible job at a Humane Society in my area. I want to help homeless animals. I love caring for them and finding them a good home. But I have heard some people say they don't like the HSUS. I'm not going to argue with anyone, I just want some facts about them before I actually apply for a job. I don't want to work for an organization that is untrustworthy.

My 2/3 yo Pedigree Rottweiler ( uncastrated) about has just started bleeding few drops from his penis. Otherwise he seems bit lathargic, has had running nose last day, his nose warmer than usual.. took him out earlier for walk and wasnt as bouncy as he normally is but think it is as he is tired. He weighs between 60-70kg and is fed around 700 g of dry food per day. He is kept indoors with me. Only had him just over a week. The previous owner promised me he had no health problems and had all vaccinations/wormed up to date but has yet to send the papers to me. Really concerned for his welfare. Any advise would be greatly valued. Kind regards. Alicia

I took my dog to the vet and spent the last of my savings and the vet can't tell me what is wrong unless I do more tests. She had been drinking and peeing more than usual and wanting to eat constantly. My vet said her blood sugar was normal but I'm wondering if he just made a mistake. Does anyone know other diseases that make a dog do the same things? I am going to take her to another vet as soon as I get some more money saved up in a month but I am worried. She acts normal other than this. I feed her a really good dry food (California Natural) mixed with cooked chicken or beef.

My dog is 3 years old (old enough to know not to go potty in the house, I'd say!), and still goes potty in the house! He goes to the bathroom outside, but also inside sometimes. We can't get a doggie door, because our cats will get out. And we can't get a crate because he's a really big dog and needs room to move around. I don't know what to do! I can't tell when he has to go out, because often he just wants to go play. He never used to do this. Why did he start now?

Ok so I have a shih tzu who's going 2 b 2 yrs. this month! He's almost potty trained... that's the problem! He always pees in the house and he once in a while poops. Whenever I take him outside he goes poop and pee... Well, I'm in high school and I have 2 wake up rly early... I just dont know when 2 take him out! Here's my schedule 4 me b/c school starts @ 7:20 a.m.

5:30-Wake up/take shower
5:50-get dressed
6- do my hair
6:10- breakfast
6:20- take my dog out?
then I leave the house @ 6:40... my little sister has 2 go 2 skool and my dad drops her off,but not until about 7:30 b/c my dad has 2 go 2 work...skool starts @ 8:30
My mom then gets home @ 1:25( but she doesn't rly take him out)
I go 2 bed @ 9:30 p.m.

Well, school finishes @ 2:13(1:13 wednesday) and i get home @ 2:45(1:45 wednesday)!

I was wondering if someone could make a schedule 4 my dog! Such as: When I should feed him( so he has enough time 2 go to the bathroom & digest his food), when i should take him out...
