It is kind of the same reason that people rearrange the furniture in their house; they want to make it theirs. That is one reason that I prefer straw in the daytime dog houses.

Just because they are outside doesn't mean they don't get bored. They need to be exercised. Walk them at a minimum once a day and play ball with them or chase them around. When dogs exhibit destructive behavior it's usually because of boredom. Check out the dog whisperer on National Geo. TV or their web site for really good information. You must exercise. Left to their own boredom and devices they will chew, bark, dig, or otherwise become destructive and bothersome as you would if you were confined to the same place day in and out without anyway to burn excess energy.

Dogs need plenty of exercise. They will chew if they're bored. Make sure they get lots of interesting activity and plenty of toys it's okay to chew on when they really want to. In the meantime you can use bitter apple spray or another safe, but unappealing spray on certain items you don't want ruined. Good luck!

Because destroying things is fun for dogs, especially when they're puppies. It's just the way it is. You have to deal with it. One of my dogs just ripped a big hole in my couch yesterday.

my dogs are the same. I have spent a sleepless night to punish them. When u see them tear something up, bring them to the thing and slap them with a rolled up newspaper.

For one thing play with them, but more importantly let them go outside! They are animals and sometimes they need the relaease of being free outside and draining their energy. Its even the natural need they feel to kill something, or chase something. Let them go do it!

you need to spend lots of time with them and show them some fun. if you don't want to do that, take them to a professional trainer.

edit: i should say, if you dont have the time to spend with your dogs, take them to a pro trainer. their just full of energy and need some good exercise and entertainment.

Plain and simple, they are bored. Boredom causes destructive behavior.
