This is hard to do.. u almost have to be a carpenter or a handy man..
U use PVC pipe.. something that is very flexible.. but yet will still stand up if hit by the dog( Duke)
I would say either go buy one.. or forget it.. it is not easy to do..

U could set up sticks in the ground about 4 ft high.. and u run with duke.. get him treats every time he follows u thru..
good luck.. happy holidays.

1 - Call up a trainer and get your dog into an agility class before you even consider starting at home!

2 - Buy some real weave poles if you can afford to - Weave poles are designed to move/bend as the dog goes through them and recreating this would be difficult if not impossible.

There is no easy or cheap way of making them - sorry. The tubes the dogs go through can be the child's ones which are cheaper but the rest of the agility 'kit' is expensive and you really do need to have a dog that used to it before using any home kits as the dogs can get major injury's otherwise, and i have seen this happen!

You can make them at home if you are handy, and the best way is to start out with six PVC poles bought at Lowes or Home Depot. Also get some camping tie out stakes, and glue them in to the PVC poles with PVC glue. It is best if the stakes are metal or steel, instead of plastic.
Or, you can easily buy some off of ebay or another site, like here:

You set them up by sticking them in the ground and place three further apart to start, then as the dog progresses, move them closer to regulation width apart. This is why it is easier to use stick in the ground weave poles to start, rather than the other competition type.

Good luck!!

I made some using some poly pipe (got from hardware store) little plastic containers and concrete... i cut the poly pipe, and put it in the little containers with concrete in em then wait for it to set... so i could move them and carry them to different places and they would free stand anywhere for demos if we had to work on hard surfaces or indoors... but you can easilty just get some poly pipe and when you cut it, cut it on an angle so you get a sharp edge so it can be stabbed into the ground... remeber every second cut is a straight one so the tops of your poles are flat not sharp... depending on the size of your dog the poles should generally be half your dogs length apart... but agility trials have special regulation so maybe look up the hand book or guide to your local ones so you can get some exact figures to train with.
GOOD LUCK
