my female dog is going through that time and it is very hard keeping the boy dog away from her. When he tries to "do his thing" she gets mad and bites him, but when they are apart all they do is wine and cry and try to brake things. This has been going on for 4 days and i don't know how much more i can take.
please help

Our 6 yr old dog MIGHT have this, only the biopsy will confirm it. The vet is treating it as a bone infection, for now. We will follow up and discuss other options soon if no improvement.

Anyone have a dog that is going thru this, went thru this? How long did your dog survive? Did you do amputation? Did it help? Did you put your dog down? Any advice or recommendations?

My new puppy (7 weeks old, got him 2 weeks ago) doesn't show much affection. He rarely licks anyone, and if he does, it's only for a second before he starts biting your face. Although he does whine when I leave the room and wag his tail when I come back, he greets me and others by lunging at our faces and biting us. Is this normal? (We are good pet parents, I have another adult dog- a rescue, we never had a pup before- who is the sweetest thing on earth. We NEVER hit our dogs.) But this dog just seems to be out for blood! lol He is so aggressive! He growls intensely at my other dog and constantly bites him, though it seems like most of the time he is just playing. I'm so worried. What do I do? Is this normal, and if not, how do i make sure this pup gets a proper upbringing?

Before anyone freaks out, the reason I have a 7 week old pup is that I am fostering him for a local shelter. The Mom had 14 pups and they were draining her too much adn she was very fragile. The shelter I volunteer for brought in 9 pups of which are all in foster care.
Back to my question... It has been a long time since I had a pup this young.. I am feeding him Avoderm according to instruction splitting it up into 3 meals, but he seems to consistemtly bee looking for more. Is this normal or should I be feeding him a little bit more?

and although it was expected i feel so bad. In the end i had to take the decision as life was such a struggle for her with various ilnesses etc. I miss her dreafudlly and feel awful for having to make the decision too. I'm sure lots of others of you out there have been through the same and its really awful isn't it.

My dog Duke weighs about 90 lbs and yesterday I was sitting in the recliner and he jumps up and sits on my lap. Then he laid in my lap.

I thought it was cute! He doesn't do it too often so I don't mind him laying in my lap.

Hi, My staffie is mostly really well behaved, she is very protective of me most of the time. There is a co-dependency problem....
When my dad, or Bf or friends give me a cuddle, she barks, and barks.
How can I stop this, at this time of year everyone is hugging, and shes NOT happy when people touch me.
(forgot to deal with this at training, I guess it never came up at the time, probably because I didnt hug the trainer..! Any help would be apprieciated.
Cheers

i have a 2 year old male husky and a 3 year old male cat. Generally the male cat would tease the husky sometimes, but the husky wouldn't mind most of the time. However yesterday evening the husky suddenly attacked the cat when he was teased. I quickly separated the cat but by then he was already injured severely and was crying in pain.

I took him to the vet and the vet said that the cat suffered serious injuries and it would take several months to recover at least.

The cat generally showed dominating behavior to husky but husky never retaliated before. The cat would often touch the husky's nose with his paw and display similar behaviors.

But i'm clueless and still not able to understand why husky beat the cat so badly yesterday. Can anyone tell why the fight occurred and how to avoid it again?

The dog was generally very easygoing and laidback, so its still hard for me to realize what he did.

The cat has been admitted into vet facility for now.

This last year was really hard on my older dog. When I got a new puppy in February I noticed changes very quickly. He wantred to be by himself and away from others. I thought nothing of it but having some peace and quiet.

The last few months I saw drastic changes. He started becoming very aggressive (biting) and was always miserable from the pain in his bones. He would aways be pacing back and forth.

My family tells me it was time for him to go. He is no longer in pain since he has passed. Did I do the right thing by putting him down?

Will the pain I have ever go away?
Thanks,
CG

My dog has been having frequent seizures about once every two weeks. Please before you say take him to the vet, we have! the vet gave him epileptic medicine and took an mri and many blood tests. so they think he has epilepsy. I am really worried for him and my dad keeps saying that he may not live very long i just want to know if this in fact is true.

Some breeds of dog come with some specific concerns, if you will. Would you deal with it again in a new pet, knowing what you do about the certain breed? Or would you choose another breed of dog to care for, despite the fact that you really loved your previous pet?
