Use Tylosin supplements! You can buy it off of Amazon or in the product, Angel Eyes. Angel Eyes is very popular, but it's cheaper just to buy the supplement.

My dog had horrible tear stains that smelled like old cheese. Within a week of feeding him 1/8 a tablespoon of Tylosin a day, his stains were reduced. A month later they were gone.

My vet uses it on her own dogs, so it's safe. The only problem is that the supplement tastes awful. I suggest hiding the medicine within a piece of meaty hot dog. Try it. Your dog will look so much better.

Like others have said, there's products to keep the eye area clean and white. Here's an awesome one - http://www.eyeenvy.com I use it on my black and white Persian. When I adopted him he had reddish/yellowed fur around his eyes from tear stains. After using Eye Envy for a couple weeks the fur around his eyes turned bright white. It's all natural, perfectly, a bit expensive but a little goes a long way. It also keeps the eyes from getting goopy. I sound like a commercial lol Just really swear by the stuff!
