Was it immediately after getting your first dog?
Or did you wait a few months or years?

Additionally, WHY did you choose to breed?

What is the OFA and why is it important to have those hips, elbows, hearts and eyes cerf'd??? (where appropriate by breed, of course)

And WHY is it important to make a DISTINCTION between the two?

How does it benefit the dog?
How has it benefited you? (if at all)

Why is there so much one sided propaganda about the subject? You hear lies all the time about neutering doing things like preventing aggression and behavioral problems, making "calmer better pets" and people tout it as something that has no side effects whatsoever.

Are people really incapable of doing independent research and educating themselves? I'm sick of having people tell me I should get my dog neutered because it will "make him calmer and better and healthier" and citing junk sources like the HSUS

This question was posted by someone else yesterday, and there were some really good responses...unfortunately, it got deleted. I cried when I was typing my response..I just don't have the energy to retype it again....

But I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to share and hopefully eduate on the benefits and the bond that can be developed between dog and human by competing and/or earning titles..

So, which wins/titles are you most proud of with your dog(s)??

Having problems with toilet training...she's 6 months now, if we go out/go to bed she always has accidents in the house. Ignoring the bad and praising the good doesn't appear to be working,,,which is what we were advised to do. We used a crate at the beginning but we recently got rid of it as it didn't seem to matter, she'd still "go" in it. To make matters worse, if left on her own for a few hours, she plays with her own poo, and I end up spending an hour cleaning the kitchen!!! Help me please!!!!!!!

Than a Boxer? They are the ultimate family dogs. Short hair, great with kids, full of courage, playful and sturdy, good with other dogs and pets...

Why would anyone get another breed?

I have a 5 month old Golden Retriever, he doesn't like his food. I've tried Purina Puppy Chow, Royal Canin, and now Eukanuba. He's gone almost 2 months now without having his whole bowl of food. All his brothers are bigger, fatter and prettier than him. How do I get him to catch up and gain weight?

I see alot of people on here don't like peta. I heard them say peta is against having house pets.
But I dont understand how that can be true because when I looked on the peta website, they sell pet items, like cat dish and dog sweaters.

Does anyone have proof that peta is bad, or what are other reasons why they are? Thank you.

My puppy is a 4 week old German Shepherd. His Mom died a week ago so I am taking care of him. He was already eating puppy chow mixed with water when I got the puppy last week which I have continued 3 times a day. At first he was doing great but then yesterday he got crazy mad diarrhea. Every 30 minutes or so he is crying at the door to go out. He's been really good about doing his "business" outside but the poor dog is pooping as much as he drinks. Is there something I could give him for the diarrhea or should I be feeding him different? Am I giving him to much water by mixing it in with the food and giving him seperate water?

I have a 2 yr old daughter that our Maltese loves, but I babysit another girl who is 20 months, when she runs or yells, or laughs loudly or anything my dog barks at her, he just growled and lunged at her yesterday when she was playing peek a boo with her blanket. Is this normal behavior (1st time owning a dog) I wouldn't think so....is this a sign that I should get rid of him? Does he just need more training? Any advice would be helpful!!!

My puppy is scratching my legs and arms. I cut his nails but then they are still sharp. He is a chihuahua mix so he is not going outside in this Buffalo, NY weather. What else can I do? I was gonna try to grind them so they are smooth. Or maybe paint them with something so they are not so rough?

We will be driving 12 hours from Atlanta to Detroit over the Christmas Holiday. I think it would be a lot easier for the dog if she just slept during the car ride. Is there anything I can give her to make her drowsy? She weighs around 35 pounds. Last year we tried one benadryl, it didn't really have any affect.
