Cat food is very high in protein and fat compared to dog food. Many dogs get the runs from cat food.
If he really need something now you can give him some bread, or a piece of chicken to hold him over then pickup some dog food later. Physically he can go a couple days without eating, he just wont be very happy about it.
Dont give him cow milk, it doesnt digest well.
Plain yogurt, eggs, raw veggies will all work as well.

We ran out last weekend and we live a fair distance from town so I made some. I used hamburger and added a soup and some chicken broth. Cooked rice goes really well in a this and I gave it to them over their dried dog food.... we did not run out of that. I have a couple of cook books on dog food that I got after the dog food poisoning scare. I give my girls left overs that are not too rich and no bones in them all the time. I even make my own dog biscuits.

Ok, so he's only 3 months. Nutrition is very important. This is what our vet had us feed our puppy when he was having stomach problems. 1lb boiled ground beef (not browned) Put meet in pan cover with water, and boil until cooked. Drain meat when done, but save juice. 1cup rice cereal, or cooked rice. 1cup cottage cheese. 1 hard boiled egg, diced. Mix well. Add a small amount of the juice you saved, just to make it a littler better tasting. (unless you used a fatty meat) If it is only for a couple of days, the cottage cheese can be left out, and of course for a small puppy you can make a smaller batch. If you insist on feeding him anything else. Please look up all the foods that are bad for dogs. Because A lot of people know not to feed onions and garlic to dogs, but don't understand that the reason is because it can actually kill a dog in a couple of days.

Dogs aren't like humans and can miss a meal once in awhile. A trainier I talked to years ago withheld one meal a week from her dogs to show them that she controlled the food (apparently it worked, I thought it was a load of crock). Either way, you dog will be hungry, but he will survive a few hours without food. If he is really hungry, you can always feed him a mixture of boiled rice and boiled chicken.

Dogs have very different nutritional requirements than cats It's not recommended. Feed them leftovers or something else. Just anything but cat food.
Or like the guy said above me just have them wait a few hours it won't hurt them too.

Your dogs can wait to eat. Cat food wouldn't be that bad for them if they only eat is once in a while (or just this once). But it might make them feel a little sick because they aren't used to it. There could be diarhea. It won't kill them though. But I think it would be much better to just feed them their normal food at noon or whenever you can get it.

Dogs eat about everything, whether it is good for them is another question. As long as you dont do a 180 on their diet you should be fine. Maybe a little gas but they should love it. If I run out I usualy fix some rice and veggies and flavor it up with a meat product. The only concern is sudden changes to diets can cause an upset stomach but 1 meal shouldnt be a prob

they'll be fine if they wait a couple of hours to get their food. I do not recommend you giving them cat food because dogs are very sensitive to abrupt changes in their diet, they could get really bad diarrhea and vomiting it you give them cat food all of the sudden.
I know what I'm talking about since my dog got into my cat's food on one occasion and he got really sick, and when I took him to the vet he explained to me what I said above.

no, it'll be ok but only for one meal. Dog food and cat food are different. Dog food meets the nutritional needs for a dog and the cat food does the same for cats.

Won't hurt your dog this once, but, you might end up cleaning up diahrea! Cat food is WAY higher in protien and fat content than dog food.
