It's difficult to keep ANY breed of dog together if they haven't been fixed.
Are you prepared to go through the stress of keeping them apart when the female is in heat twice a year for 3 weeks? ANY slip up on your part is going to result in an uneducated accidental breeding...
Maybe you should just consider spaying / neutering and be done with it...

Well, it may become annoying after a while. The male dog, unaltered, tends to be very controlling and vicious toward potential challengers, including you, and may harrass the female, trying to mate with her, even though she is not in season. It may be best to get the female fixed, if nothing else, because if not, she will bleed when she goes into heat and stain carpet, furniture and make the male go completely insane. He will do anything to get to her. Anything. So it is best to get them both fixed.

Oh ya, they really do like to breed. They make excellant parents, but they tend to have large litters. So if you don't want puppies you had better get at least one of them fixed. I'd go with the female because she will want babies with whoever she can do it with.

If you keep them together it is a big possibility that you'll have instead of two, three or more Labradors...

Your male will act like a complete moron for a while and probably pee all over your house and he will exhaust himself while driving her crazy . I would just get them fixed and let them live a non tortured existence.

Please just get them fixed. Your female can and WILL end up getting pregnant... if they're pups (2months - 6 months of age), and not fixed then it's fine.. but once she goes into heat, she is fair game!!

Well - they will definitely have puppies if you do. You should certainly get them neutered for their health & to prevent unwanted litters.

It is annoying, and there is a good chance that you will end up with an "accident".
