I can't believe that people would add salt & pepper to chicken for a dog - if they were in the wild they certainly would not turn the nose up for food with no seasoning! It's bad for humans and the 4 legged friend!
My dog loves plain chicken, throw the skin away, just give him all the bits that hubby picks off the carcus, any spare veg that goes in as well (he loves raw swede & carrots by the way)
Mind you my dog is a local dustbin, and will eat almost anything you give him! As a treat once a month he has a huge bowl of porridge (that is when we do the forest walk with him, burns slower keeps the energy going, you would think he has died and gone to heaven!
He loves the forest walk - 4 miles of streams, rocks, stairs, hills and slopes - playground for dogs!

My dogs eat raw chicken every day. I buy ground chicken. The bones and skin are ground with the meat. Each dog gets one pound of chicken with enough water added to make it easy to stir. Then I add 1/4 cup of potato flakes for carbohydrates and 1 1/2 cup of kibble and mix it all together. Raw chicken bones are ok for dogs. Cooked bones are not. My dogs do great on this mix. They will pull a sled 40 miles without stopping.

he takes the chicken first to the other side (dog wont eat the rice) then he goes back for the dog when going back he takes back the chicken with him (the dog will eat the chicken on the other end) he leaves the chicken and takes the rice then he goes back again for the chicken, boom all three are safely no eaten on the other side!

I would cook it, as suggested. I would not use this as their only source of food though. Puppies fed a meat-only diet end up with rickets and other growth problems. Make sure they are getting enough vitamins and minerals. The calcium:phosphorus ratio is all messed up in raw meat. This may be something you already knew anyway, but just in case. You may be able to pick up a vitamin/mineral supplement for "raw" diets at a pet supply store. Veggies like carrots, broccoli, etc are also good supplements. I hope this helps, good luck! :)

Okie dokie... yes you can feed it to them raw... i do all the time... but it should only be in small amounts and mixed with other food such as dry crunchies or something as to much raw chicken can give them a belly ache... also you can give your dog raw chicken bones... as they only splinter once cooked as the bone is hollow (to make it lighter so the bird can fly) it becomes brittle and splinterd when cooked.... but raw if fine... they are very good for cleaning little teeth and keeping them healthy (i give raw chicken wings to my cat and my dog, and both love and enjoy them for many years now and no probs) also cutting the fat off would be very good, make it a bit healthier for them...
Well good luck, your doggies are gonna love you for chicken.. YUM YUM
Also... should point out mummy mutt is right dry food is different to what i'm refering too (my dogs get it with that dry dog food thats moist... i dunno what to refer it too... but i call it crunchies but when you feel it, its all smudgie...any way)

We give our dogs roast. Not the best on the market, but I know this it does not stink like boiled chicken. Fat is removed. I mix the roast with their dog food.

I feed my dogs a homemade diet, of BOILED chicken rice veggies and fruit. I wouldn't give them raw meat it can be filled with bacteria. I would boil it for 30 to 60 minutes just to be safe. Depending how big your dog is I would cut it into small pieces, about cutting the fat off I always do but that is just MY preference. Hope this helped.

You can give it to them raw, but since they are not used to eating raw food, they might get sick. Since you haven't done any research on raw feeding, I would cook it. Boiling it is best, as this will get the fat off.
ADDED: DO NOT mix it in with their kibble if it is raw - kibble and raw food digest at completely different rates (raw digests much faster). You can mix it with kibble if it is cooked. AND NO SPICES (not even salt and pepper like the poster below suggested). My dogs will go NUTS over PLAIN BOILED chicken... nothing added.

My dogs get chicken regularly - always cooked, but never cooked bones as they are quite brittle and splinter easily.
You can remove the fat if you like. I don't. I just monitor how much fatty pieces they get. Mine tend to get diarrhea if they eat too much poultry.

Either feed it raw, or remove the bones if you cook it. No need to remove the skin or fat.
