It is not wise to bath your new mom for a few days. Just get a warm wash cloth and clean her up. Makes sure she is very dry so she doesn't get the pups wet and cause them to catch a chill ok!

Let her clean the pups - the birth material and afterbirth is full of protein and vitamins she needs
After a day wipe her down with a cloth. When she starts to move on her own, see how she reacts to a bath with warm water - don't use soap right away, just give her a scrub and a rinse. If she objects - respect that and try again in a day or so. She'll let you know when she's comfortable with that.
Be sure you keep the area clean as well, though.

Any vet can spay a dogs. should not be a vet in the event that they can't. Get her accomplished until eventually now the puppies get too huge. Breeding is a accountability that ought to stay with the b*tch's proprietor for the the remainder of the puppies lives. this could be a protracted time. i for my section am sick of rescues and shelters being dumped on while the breeders must be in charge for the lives they deliver. there is merely 2 reasons that shelters are so comprehensive. a million. puppies going to the incorrect residences in the 1st place in the time of the breeder not taking sufficient care. 2. Breeders not taking their canines back while proprietors do get into difficulty. are you able to handle the accountability and save all puppies until eventually spectacular residences are stumbled on.

Not for at least 5 days to allow her (you know what) swelling to go down alittle and so it wont be so tender, then be sure is rinsed well, so soap wont hurt pups from nursing....
congratulations on the pups

Maybe about 3 weeks later but you have to dry her. You should ask a vet to be sure. When my cocker gave birth... we waited for three weeks and then we dried her well for the puppies not to get wet and sick. Our cocker was fine.
