U just have to be a bit creative Ur self. most everything cost a arm and a leg now days..
so go build a jump.. with a saw horses and a 2x4 or do like Ur mom did and build a limbo setup.. ( we used to dance under one.. ) but duke could jump over it.. U just keep raising the height up...

most parks have bike trails.. those or neat .. but do not go alone.. I don't care how safe u feel..
big apts.complexes have trails as well.. only go when all the family are out and about.. or go over to the tennis courts.. if no one is playing and play chase or fetch..
good luck.. happy holidays.

I am in an apartment so I have to be creative too:

-check out a tennis court which is outdoors, fenced in and has a gate. It is great for playing catch, fetch, etc.
-when going for a walk, spice it up by getting a longer lead and putting it around your waist. You will be walking hands free, and you can swerve around trees, change courses, etc. It gives the dog a bit of an activity.
-A game I used to play in the house was hide and seek. I would get my dog to sit in the bathroom and wait (she was good if she knew what we were doing), and then I would hide 3 treats (or if we were playing the extended version, several pieces of one treat). I would use a cue, "go get them!" and she would find her treats. When she was done she would come to me, or if she thought she was done. If she wasn't, I would lead her to the area where I hid it and she would catch the scent again.
4. Try training in a large area-- I like baseball diamonds. To do this, get a clasp that will attach to a collar and a 100 ft nylon rope (which you can buy at a hardware store for about $10). Train the dog in commands like come, stay, roll over, and whatever silly other commands you would like (I know a dog that can beg, hide her eyes, play dead, crawl, etc) in a large area with distractions. Some dogs love having a job like that! The lead is perfect as well, because if he goes to run off, you just have to step down on it.
5. If you trust your dog enough, you can try and train him to run beside a bike. It provides different speeds, distractions, etc that can be great exercise for a larger dog.

And besides that I am out of ideas!

You crate train him and house break him like he's a puppy. The same way you would train a puppy. Why would anyone train a dog to use their house as a toilet?? That's really disgusting. You have to time his walks about 45 minutes to an hour or so after every meal. Take him on walks in areas where other dogs go. And remember, walks are not just for going to the bathroom. Take him out and keep him out until he goes but make the walks enjoyable so that he anticipates them. But you need to learn his body's elmination schedule and work with that to begin with.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/6ljiI

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

He can be trained to use a tread mill if you have one. Get him one of the toys that you put treats inside. He has to work to get the treats.

Make his outside games more fun so he stay entertained more. Make him some social dates with dogs of friends. Go to the park once or twice a week so he has someone to play with. Dogs are pack animals and need friends.
We are lucky to have a local park with bob cats, turtle, squirrels and raccoons and many more critters, My dog is thrilled when he sees one.

if u have a backyard tht has many hiding places then you can bring it out and let it sniff the "weird" things then tell someone to make sure he doesnt see where the toys are then you should let him find them

the second thing tht u can do is put out shoe boxes like hurdles and run or jumps along side your dog

ps.

u can try to play tug of war or play a relay race with another person who has a dog

1)find something tht your dog can carry while running to you
2)encourage your dog to bring it to u
3)run to the finish line and whoever wins gets a treat gets a treat but even if u dont then still praise it

I found a free treadmill on craigslist.com and have trained my german shep. pup to run on it while i work out. he loves it because he knows he gets the good treats when he does.

I've noticed that he gets the more exhausted when he wrestles with other dogs at the dog park, so a few days out of the week i wrestle with him the same way he would with another dog. I make sure he has a squeaky toy in his mouth though, because they tend to bite when they wrestle.

You should try a doggie school, like doggie obedience or agility... lots of fun and in a safe envrionment and your dog will learn to be social and better behaved with other dogs...

I work my German Shephard with basic and advanced obedience inside. It allows me to work more off lead stuff. He enjoys working alot but he plays just as hard. Keep his mind active saves from boredom chewing or in my case boredom destroying.

He's barking because he is excited to see other animals. Dos are naturally social creatures. The more you expose him to other animals, the better he will act. Patience and tolerance is the key here. This time is for the dog, not you.
