The whites of her eyes are red/bloodshot. Is it serious or just an irritant, do you think?

Ok. My dog muffin is about a year old and she was perfectly fine when she was younger and soon she had to get fixed but she had her period and I guess we couldn't get her fixed and then she got tape worm. After that she got fleas and I washed her and did what i could hopefully got rid of it. Soon after that she began to scratch very hard near her butt and lost hair on her tail near the top and on the side of her back legs not very much hair. I changed her food a couple times and then changed it agian and she is growing back some of the hair but still bites herself, is it dry skin, mites, or still fleas ? What should I do? PLS help!

I have toured Mrs. Baird's Bread, Borden Ice-Cream and Frito Lay factories where products for human consumption is made. I am wondering if anyone has asked their dog food company where their food is processed and if they can tour the plant? I'd have to wonder why any food company keeps this secret! One dog food that is supposed to be a good one, and may well be, even states at their site that they have left one processor and moved to another that they cannot disclose!
http://timberwolforganics.com/s.nl/it.I/id.9/.f#001
If you have asked, I'd like to know what you were told.
I was given specific ans. to specific questions from my dog food company, but I didn't get a direct ans. about where the plant is or whether it can be toured. So if others of you will e-mail your dog food co's and ask "Where is your food processed and can i tour that plant?" I will too, and I'd be curious as to what the companies will answer...

I use the magic coat wipes because I know bathing them often is bad for their skin. However, we found out that she was allergic to them and itches terribly when we used to use it. What can I do to get rid of her stench without irritating my poor little pup?

My 12 week old Jack Russell puppy has recently started really chowing on his food. He no longer chews as he is eating, and often starts to cough while eating. Does anyone have any insight as to how I can get him to slow down while eating?

Note on feeding: We are currently feeding him 1/3 cup of food 3 times per day. 6:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 6:30 pm

lol...not really a big ???, but I love my huskies and they are the best dogs I have ever had. They are so loved and spolied. They are hardly ever on a leash and always stay around us. They love to jump and play in the snow and like to build snow caves at night. They love to go mountain biking and backcountry snowboarding too :) Have you hugged your doggy today?

Here the are!

Whenever I took my dog to the vet to get his nails trimmed, the vet would quickly rub some kind of powder on my dog's nail if it were bleeding. We've stopped taking him to the vet for nail trimmings (Too expensive!) and instead clip them at home. However, if he starts bleeding, there's nothing we can really do to stop him from bleeding all over the carpet when we're finished. Would anyone know the powder or some kind of substitute that would stop the bleeding after trimming my dog's nails?

My dog Bain was playing with his squeaky toys he cut for Cmas, he bumped his head on something and cut it. I am the only one he let near him to clean it up and fix it. He growled at my dad.

Bain was laying under the chair I was sitting in and my other dog came close to me and he attacked him. That never happened before then. (Ozzy's okay and we are making sure it doesn't happen again. The porr little baby was really scared and had hurt feelings after. I felt really bad for him. I almost cried.).

He follows me everywhere when I am home.

When I come home from staying the night somewhere, he pins me down and hugs me for a while.

I've had my puppy for nearly two weeks and I'm unsure what to do with her in her crate at night. The crate was too big, so I sectioned it off so that she could only have space to lie down, sit and turn around. Yet she still urinated and deficated in that small area during the night - from about 10.30/11pm to 6.30am.

What should I do?? Any advice would be much appreciated - all the books I have don't say much about during the night. My pup seems to wake up at some point in the night, elimate and then go back to sleep.

She has a little bed inside the crate with a blanket sort of thing on it. It's a metal crate.

Thanks and please no people telling me that crate training is evil.

I am so stressed! I got a new puppy for Christmas and I've been trying to think of a name but I can't think of one. Or I can't find the right fit. Every time I think I've find the name, I look at him and say it but it doesn't feel right. There is a name I'm searching for and I'm not sure if I've found it or not. As well, everytime I think of the perfect name I can't use it because someone else I know uses that name for something or it reminds me of something. I want a more unique name then Max and I don't like people names for pets like Becky. Names like Toby and Cooper are fine but nothing to known or to much for a person. Any advice on naming my dog or personal experiences? When do I know I've got the name? I've had that feeling again and again that it was the one but then it wasn't. People are pressuring me to name him but I just can't find it! I'm so FRUSTRATED.

We have two English Bulldogs. The male (8 yrs old) goes absolutely ballistic when I cough. He's only been doing this for the last year (I've been around him for 4 years). The female could care less.

Strangely, when my wife coughs, he doesn't react at all. Just when I do it. I'd like some answers from people who have real experience with this, rather than just guesses ... and yes, he barks at a lot of noises and is a fairly anxious dog.

Thanks!

I had them both on leash and my dog Dakota got aggressive with my dog Duke.

She has always been aggressive towards him. But not all the time. Most the time they play together and lick each other.

A few years ago, I watched a news report that said the left-over turkey from a holiday dinner can kill a dog. As I recall, it said that for dogs, turkey can cause internal bleeding or something. Is that true?

My friends dad used to train sevice dogs and he told me that if dogs dont pass the test that the people who raised and trained them get to choose if they want the dog and if they dont it gets adopted out to someone who wants a trained dog at this point the dog is 2 & 1/2yrs. old but the only reason it cant be a service dog is that something is wrong w/ it like it doesnt have all that good of vision or something. Should i send in a letter to get one of these dogs or get a pound dog?

How long until she stop whining? I have never let her out or talked to her while she was whining. I always wait until she is quiet to let her out. She has been in it for two weeks now. I put her in at bedtime, and while we eat. And if I am cleaning and have stuff I dont want her getting into. But it seems like she can cry for hours on end. How long did it take you puppy to get used to the crate? ThankYOU!

This past weekend my dog slipped while playing and ventrally luxated (dislocated) her femur and in the progess, she broke her acetabulum. She is had to have major hip surgery and has 6 weeks of recovery time. During this time she is on restricted activity, no running, jumping, etc. She has to be on a leash at all times. She is a 1 1/2 y.o. husky, and as you probably know, is full of energy! Two days after the surgery and she already wants to play! Anyone know any good ways of not only keeping her calm but also ways to keep her from being bored? Any suggestions will help!
