My dog Bain was playing with his squeaky toys he cut for Cmas, he bumped his head on something and cut it. I am the only one he let near him to clean it up and fix it. He growled at my dad.

Bain was laying under the chair I was sitting in and my other dog came close to me and he attacked him. That never happened before then. (Ozzy's okay and we are making sure it doesn't happen again. The porr little baby was really scared and had hurt feelings after. I felt really bad for him. I almost cried.).

He follows me everywhere when I am home.

When I come home from staying the night somewhere, he pins me down and hugs me for a while.

Actually, your dog thinks he owns you. That's how it is with dogs--either you own them, or they own you. And you never want to be owned by the dog.

Practice leadership everyday, in your voice and your body language. NEVER let your dog pin you down; he perceives you as weak and this could lead to an attack on you. NEVER allow your dog to decide who gets to come near you; he is treating you like one of his toys. Since you have more than one dog, it is very important that you establish yourself as the pack leader. Or your dad, with you higher up the chain of command than the dog.

Petsmart has a series of training classes that start at $99. Start with these to learn better ways to control and discipline your dog.

Growling at pack members, dominating you (it's NOT protecting! you're *his human*, that's domination)
& PINNING. YOU. DOWN? Domination!!! - that's not good.
You can either let those behaviours contintue untill he hurts himself, or somebody else, or you can start socialiseation and look up how to dominate and control a dog, and how to properly socialise.
Sorry if that wasn't what you were expecting to read.

Dogs don't "love." They are simply stimulus-response creatures, just like every other wild animal. What you perceive as love is just your dog figuring out that being around you will get him attention, food, water, and treats. Stop looking at your dog as a little human baby and start treating him like the wild instinct animal that he is, and he'll fall into line. The only thing your dog loves about you is that you fill his needs.

Your dog probably just trusts you more then he feels he can trust your father or any other dog at this time and possibly the other dog or your dad had done something that upset him and now he doesn't trust them completely.

Your pup is exhibiting some really undesirable traits and you think it's flattering to your ego??

You need to get that dog socialized with other people and other dogs. Take him for group obedience classes as soon as he's old enough.

Think of your dog's socialization and well being, not how exclusively he "loves" you - that is a recipe for disaster for the poor dog.

your dog loves you soooooooooooooo much, that's why your the only one that could fix his boo boo. dogs are natural lovers, even the ones that get beaten on a daily basis(which pisses me off to no end), anyway,we have 2 pitbulls and a cockerspainel/sheepdog. the female is daddy's girl, so it's hugs and kisses for an hour or so, then our boy get's in his hugs and kisses for another hour. then after things are said and done our mix get's up in dad's lap and it's hugs and kisses for another hour. he just wants to be with you, it's no big deal.

Watch for aggression in the older dog. You could end up with some serious injuries.

Dogs are pack animals. They look for a hierarchy in their living situation and decide where they fit in that hierarchy. Perhaps Bain sees you as the alpha ("male" would usually be the word but that's not appropriate here). Animals get upset when they're injured & someone tries to bother them but maybe not if it's a superior. I wonder if it could have to do with the fact that you're female thus not as threatening as your father. GIRL POWER!

Its really suprising how many people let their dog dominate them!
1. he let you near him because he thinks of you as the lower dog. His slave. He wanted you to lick his wound because you are the lowest in ranking! Your dad clearly isnt.
2. He does not want anouther dog dominating you!
3.he Pins you down!?!?!? D-O-M-I-N-A-T-I-O-N!
