Our Havenese cross Yorky, is the most wonderful dog. Good temprement, healthy all round, has good exercise in large garden. He is eight years of age and this morning was the third time in his lifetime, that he has had seizures. His eyes remain open, but staring, his legs twitch violently, and this lasts for about 1 minute. Then he comes out of it, with me stroking him and his eyes scared and open, and lies there for about 5 mintues. Then it starts again for another minute.

Causes? How to deal with it? Any cure?

Thank you/

My dog is old, almost 16. I noticed lately that she goes around in circles. She's not chasing her tail, or sniffing the ground. She just goes around & around, like she's confused. It really freaks me out. Is this normal? What does it mean?

I purchased a Black Great Dane puppy who has been diagnosed with inherited HD and third eyelid eversion - The vet told me to contact the breeder - I paid alot of money for this show quality puppy and we love him now. The breeder doesn't respond to emails.

I bought a flea comb and treated the house. I'm concerned because although he's gotten much better, his fur hasn't grown back where it fell out and he still has some bumps and itches. What could be causing this? We bought a special shampoo and a cream for him, which has been helping but he's still suffering with the itchiness. Is there something I'm missing?

My aunt has a nasty little bichon that no one in the family likes. Now she is in rehab after a fall, and will have to be in assisted living at least until the spring. The assisted living facility does not accept pets, and needless to say, no one else in the family wants him. Some can tolerate him, but they can't take care of a dog under their current circumstances. For now he's been dumped on my mother. Does anyone know of a place that is set up for taking care of a dog for long periods of time in the Indianapolis area?

The pit bull next door keeps biting my friendly dog in the face!
She constanly jumps, and hangs on to the fence until my dog jumps. I need a solution, because the dog's owner doesn't care.

Many people feel bad that they get to eat these wonderful dinners and their dogs just get to sit there and watch. So, since bones and table scraps are two major concerns during the holidays for our dogs, can anyone tell me why?

Plants are also a big issue since we are coming into the holidays. Other than Holly, which everyone knows by now is the worst danger to dogs, what outher plants should you be careful of?

Please folk, no thumbs down or reporting! I like everyone to have a change to voice their thoughts, regardless of how wrong they are! :-)

The only animal shelter is an hour away and they normally put strays to sleep within a few days and I don't have the heart to do that. I am not sure yet if I can keep him because of my other dog therefore I do not want to pay out to take him to the vet (which the nearest one is also an hour's drive away). He is starving but seems to have trouble eating. I am feeding him some dog food but he seems to have trouble with the hard foods. Are there any home cooking recipes that would be good to get this dog back to eating again? I bought him some of the canned Alpo beef w/rice and he loved it but that is too expensive to buy all the time - he is a medium sized dog. I gave him a bath and cut the matted fur on him but it feels like if you touch him too hard his ribs will break. I am not even sure about giving him away right now because of how underfed he is - any suggestions?

I have an indoor dog that has always been terrified of storms. She shakes terribly and dissapears for hours.
My vet gave me Doggie Vicodin to calm her down, which I'm supposed to give her one hour before each storm starts. Has any one had to do this??? And also, is it okay to give it to her after the storm starts?? Storms here just kind of sneek up and i dont want to just give her vicodin everytime it starts to rain or she'll be out of it all the time!! HELP PLEASE!

I have a 9 month old female maltese that I love very much
I kiss and cuddle her A LOT because she is so cute and she also sleeps in my bed with me
Usually she likes to lay on the pillow with her face in mine and won't go to sleep unless I put my hand out for her to sleep on top of
My mom says this is spoiling her and that she should sleep at the foot of the bed, not in my face
Also that too much cuddling/ kissing spoils her too
I can't help it! She is very cute! Is this spoiling her?

i dont think its that bad , it doesnt seem to be hurting her , but she has gotten really bad fleas in the past 2 weeks cause its like breeding season or somthing every dog i know has them at the moment and were doing all we can to get rid of them absolutely everything and there pretty much gone now!! but my dog she was biting her self like how dogs itch them self's and she started sorta losing her fur at that spot but now shes got these lump things there im pretty shore there just scabs but they look a greeny colour? i think it might just be from the grass i dont know sticking to it maybe cause i put a little cream on it that i heard would help it, but now they look like it might have a bit of pus in it?? what do you think it is? the vet is way to expansive if i have to take her i defanantly will i just want to no if its nessesary? is there somthing i can get for it to put on it?? or will it just heal or go away or what?? whats the name for it?? and my other dog keeps licking it 4 her?

He is a 4 montho old American Bulldog and we are pretty sure it is him that is peeing on the bed. Our other dog is a 4yr old female pitbull and she would rather die that relieve herself in the house. We never let him on the bed. Does anyone know what inspired him to pee on our bed when we are not looking and how should we put a stop to it?

I’m looking to buy a British bulldog, they are pretty expensive I’ve seen adds on a website call mercattel.com, with bulldog puppies to adopt for free. Does anyone know if this is some kind of scam, I’ve only been able to email these people there is no contact number. I’ll be making a 5-hour drive to even see the puppies. Just though someone out there might know.

Last night I bought my dogs some (IMHO) expensive doggie treats and instead of enjoying them, they wouldn't even touch them . Can anyone recommend doggie treats that your own dogs really enjoy? Mine do like dental treats ,chewy bones, and dog biscuits. I am looking for the soft ,meat flavored types , something that would be mouth watering to them that would be a great reward . Thanks in advance!
