Green in color usually means infection and since she is losing her hair, she may have mange. I think it's a good idea to take her to your vet. Have you tried giving her a flea bath? She also would benefit from getting Advantix or Frontline from your vet.

'Breeding season', what's that got to do with anything? Fleas are not seasonal, this is an old belief. You need to get some proper flea treatment from a vets, like Frontline! You don't actually need to take the dog there if you really don't want to, just pick up some Frontline. This will be a LOT cheaper in the long term than all the things you're trying.

It sounds like your dog is allergic to fleas, that's what the scabs probably are. You MUST get some proper treatment - you cannot rely on anything you buy from stores. It's important to know that pet store flea treatments do not actually work, they are not licensed to sell the proper chemicals.

You also need to learn to stop avoiding the vet when there's a problem with your pets. This is a surefire way to end up spending vast amounts of money on useless stuff, and making the situation worse.

It could be a flea allergy, or a grass allergy, maybe even mange mites.

A visit to the vet would be a good idea, it might be less costly in the long run to resolve the problem and the cause and get on to the right treatment.

Next time you will be better prepared.

They can get staph infections too in cases like these, and with a flea plague your dog has been having a tough time.

Some dogs develop allergies to fleas and can bother spots like the one your dog has developed. Get rid of the fleas. Get a topical treatment and treat all the animals in your house. It's going to take a couple of months at least to get rid of them, they've probably already laid eggs. In the US we have products like Frontline and Advantage. Careful if you have cats, one of these products used on dogs is lethal to cats.

Wash your dog's wounds with a solution of betadine (povidine iodine) and water. Keep the dogs from licking them. See how they are in a couple of days.

Its not "breeding season" for fleas.

Its getting colder out and the fleas are jumping on the dogs for warmth.

It sounds like your dog had an allergic reaction, the vet can give it antihistamines which will fix her right up. I know vets are expensive but keeping them healthy is a small price to pay for what dogs give you.

sorry to say it but despite the cost your dog needs to see a vet, it may have an infection and need antibiotics.

Good luck.
