Frontline. Get the smallest and use only as much as is necessary. I only put a few drops each on my chis rather than a whole tube.

Do not use Advantix - It is a wonderful product but IS TOXIC to cats!!
Frontline - Kills existing fleas in less than 24 hours;
Remains waterproof for 30 days, even if your dog or cat swims or is bathed, gentle enough for use on puppies and kittens 8 weeks of age or older,kills flea eggs and larvae.
Capstar is good for killing fleas only. It is not a preventative and lasts for only a day or so. I have never had any luck with anything bought from a pet store. I appreciate the fact that there Johnson's Baby Shampoo work's to kill fleas, I have never tried it but I am sure that it does. But remember that a dogs PH is completely different from a humans PH even a baby's. To avoid possible irritations, dry skin, rashes etc., refrain from using "people stuff" on your pooch :) Hope this helps :)

I appriciate the one about johnsons baby shampoo and the one about vinegar. Those were new ones on me. I can't believe noone had said yet Adams flea spray. It goes a long long way and works on contact and can be used on anything anywhere. When you pick it up (go to a pet store or call ahead and see if the co-op or local Walmart has it. Preferably pick it up at the pet store and they may can give you some more individualized attention. Just ask for it by name and it comes in a pump, spray bottle that is blue. Use it on the kitty friend too and avoid recontamination without eliminating playmates.

You can't buy any good flea treatments in stores unfortunately. Stores are not licensed to sell the chemicals appropriate for safe and effective flea treatment so anything you get from a store is going to be a basic pesticide that you can't actually expect to work.
Get a proper flea treatment from a vets. Frontline is the cheapest - it may be more expensive that what you can buy in stores but its worth it when you consider that it's actually going to work.

I use Frontline. It's in a small plastic dripper container I get from the vet's office.
You put a little on the back of the neck and by the tail. It keeps fleas away for about 3 months and it does great for my dog.

Your pup should be on effective parasite control. I use Advocate- which is a spot on treatment that you need to put on them every month- it covers things from mice, to worms to fleas.
There are many products on the market and it;s up to you which you use but you should be protecting her from worms, heart worms at the very least.
Good luck

What I do is put some white vinegar in my dogs and cats drinking water.
You can use any kind of vinegar I'm pretty sure.
Its cheep and easy to do.
The vinegar also gets rid of toxins and is very good for them and their coat!
Also fleas die in winter so you wont have as much of a problem.
