He has had it for almost 2 days. I have been up with him all night because he needs to go outside every hour. It has been getting worse. I don't know if I can give him any people medication or if white rice would help?

Yeah , Dehydration is a serious issue if your puppy is having severe diarreah for more than 24hrs. I think you should see a veternarian right away.

VET right away or your puppy could die. Dehydration is a very serious problem for small animals. Take your puppy's temperature (rectally). Then call your vet's emergency service.

If you can't get in touch with the vet tonight but are going FIRST THING in the morning, you can give the puppy a little bit of Pepto. Read the Pepto container and calculate how much to give him based on how much he weighs. DON"T give him too much. It is better to give him too little, wait an hour and give him a tiny bit more until the pooping stops. Read the directions on the bottle very carefully.

You can cover the bottom of your tub with trash bags & newspaper and put the puppy in it (with his blanket or a towel that you are going to throw away) for the night. It is better than cleaning up poop from your house.

Get a disposable container (use a doggie poop bag or a zip lock) and get a sample of the poop. That will save your baby some trauma at the vet. (The vet won't have to "take the poop" sample from the puppy since you already have it).

Get the pup to the vet, you don't want to risk his life over poop.

nothing. there's a reason he's having it. and if it's been going on for 2 days and isn't getting better take him to the vet. trying to stop it with home remidies can only make the issue that's causing the diaherrea get worse. a young or small dog can get very dehydrated very fast. and you don't want to play catch up with fluids once he has. although after 2 days he's already dehydrated. take him to the vet as soon as you can. such as now or first thing in the morning. not 2 days from now. there is a multitude of what could be causing it and your vet is the best person to figure it out and stop it. they did go to school ya know?

You need to get your pup to a vet, it is dangerous to give your pup human medication as you don't know what your pup has. Take him to a vet and ideally bring a sample with you so they can test it- there are many things which could cause diarrhea so your pup needs to see a vet- it is unfair for your pup to suffer.

In the meantime, feed a bland diet, chicken and white rice mix- avoid pigs ears and rawhides and other treats. While your pup has diarrhea, you can give him/her carrots and cucumbers as treats but limit the treats to that as pigs ear are fatty and will add to the problem.

SEE A VET NOW- YOUR POOR PUP MUST BE DEHYDRATED!

Okay I had a dog that diahrea forever. And the vet couldn't find out what was wrong with her....they eventually did. It was broncittis and worms...a rare worm...canadian. Anyways. She might of just ate something bad. The vet said I could give the dog baby immodium to help untill I got to the vet. Try this, then if it doesn't clear up take the dog to the vet. If the diahrea has grainy bits in it almost like sand your pup has worms....that is what my dog had, you couldn't see worms in her diahrea.

When diarhea last for 2 days it's time for teh vet if it's that bad and gettign worse you pup is dehydrating even if he's drinking he wouldn't be able to replace the fluids fast enough.
GET TO THE VETS IMMEDIATELY this can be fatal to your pup do not use any home remedy there is something seriously wrong go now hurry

VET. NOW.

Make sure if you can't get him to an Emergency vet right now, that he is kept hydrated. Try a diet of boiled chicken and rice to calm the stomach, but chances are that he is sick and needs to be seen by a vet! If anything, at least call the vet and ask them if you should bring him in!

For everyday soft or overly hard stools, canned pumpkin (just pumpkin, not the pie filling) works wonders.

BLOODY diarhhea is the main symptom of Parvo.. BTW.. so any blood in the stools, and you pup is either parvo positive, or has coccidia or a lot of worms.

LOL!!! DIRRARAH!! That's new :P

Well, if your dog is suffering from DIARRHEA i would first take him to the vet to see that he hasnt got an infection.
Your vet will tell you what to feed him but yes rice and even chicken will make his poos harder, talk to a vet because you can't start guessing what he has. He may have an illness and you'll regret not treating it.

there's no way to correctly answer this. the puppy needs to go to the vet right away. puppies and kittens can dehydrate right away.

until you know the case (vet) you cannot treat. do NOT give a puppy human medication without veterinary advice.

You need to take him to the vet now, there are several reasons for him to have diarreah, however, you do not want him to get dehydrated. You might want to consider taking a stool sample in when you go. That will just make things easier when you get there.
