Hi everyone- my husband and I bought a Chihuahua about 2 weeks ago and she's 9 months old.At first she bonded with my husband. And then for some reason she started getting very atached to me. My husband did'nt change anything he was doing he is very loving to her and offers treats and anything else he can think of . She just acts scared of him. What should we do?Does anyone know any tricks?I know we should be patient but we don't know if what we are doing is right or wrong.Hopefully someone out there can help who has maybe gone through this too.Oh I forgot to mention she is a kennell dog so I know that's a big part of it too. Thanks for the help :)

My dog has always been wonderful. He is a 4 yr old black lab, beagle mix. Very energetic friendly loving animal. Last week I came home and he had attacked the woodwork next to the front door. completely ruined it. then today I came home and he did worse! Window sill to picture window ruined, counter top in kitchen?, door to the house and the doorknob, and he took all the stuff off the couch and ripped it all up. I dont know what to do. he hasnt been exposed to any chemicals and nothing has changed. Wasnt gone longer than usual or any thing. Help?!

We recently got a new puppy, a maltepoo. He is 10 weeks old and we got her last night around 6 pm. He has not eaten since last night before 6 pm. He drinks water and has eaten 5-6 pieces of food I got out of the dish and gave to him. He has also eaten one treat (only one because I don't want to encourage the not eating). I noticed today that there are worms in his poop (roundworms) but I also believe that he has tapeworms, I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow or Tuesday whatever they have avaliable. We are feeding him Natural Choice Small Bites (it's a good dog food from pets mart). Should I be consirned or is it simply stress from the move? He plays and temperment is fine, no diarrhea or vomiting and is pooping and peeing normally.

I have noticed the last couple of days my 7mos old pug is wiping his face into the carpet, he then runs in circles and then starts the inward-hiccups. I have never seen anything like this before. His nose is clear, his eyes are fine, I've checked him over thoroughly and don't see anything. Why is he doing this?

I have a 3 !/2 month golden retriver- she has had a serious fungal infection- i took her to the vets and they gave her a special bath- i then had to bath here every two days and sprey this really strong chemical on her and finally put a cream on. anyway it seemed to off worked and her hair has started growing back- well last night she started really scratching again and little lumps have come up on her ears- i live in tyrkey and the vets are rubbish they just want to sell you loads off stuff to make money. I think it maynot be a fungal infection and maybe mites- does anyone know what I should be looking for and what i can ask the vet to do- someone has suggested a skin scrap or a blood test.
Any advice would be a great help as driving me insane- I am going to a new vet tomorrow so wanted to be prepared
Thanks

I thought I heard something about waiting a few days to apply a spot-on treatment after taking a flea collar off, but I'm not sure if I have to or not. So anyone who knows please tell me. Thanks!

He is a Lab mix that we rescued from the pound. He is now 8 weeks old and we've had him home for 2 weeks now. When he gets too worked up from playing and gets too rough, we have been holding him on his back (firmly but not excessively so) to try and get him to submit to us/calm down. However, this makes him worse! He starts growling and wriggling and biting really hard and doesn't stop. Are we scaring him? Does he think we're playing? Is he dominant? I have been making him sit before his meals and before we go in and outdoors. What are some other ways we can show him who's boss?

How do you feel about it being necessary to look out for another's dog in the park. We just walked our Westie and met a couple with two dogs who relentlessly went after our dog- not in a malicious way, but they did make him nervous! The owners were far away talking and we just carried on with our walk. We were heading for the exit when the dogs- who had fallen behind a bit came racing past us towards the road. I didn't try to stop them as being inexperienced with any dogs other than ours I fully expected them to stop before they left the park. They didn't I felt guilty, fortunately the owner managed to get them back. 5 mins later (we're on the road- it's busy) the dog comes tearing towards us- I put out my hand to try and stop him and he ran onto the road- fortunately the drivers stopped. Last we saw he was headed off into the distance with the owner following behind him. Now I'm sat at home worrying about the poor thing and upset with the owner for putting me in this position

Please become educated about the breed...stop being prejudice against an animal who can't stick up for themselves.
watch this video and tell me if it doesn't change your mind about the wonderful breed of pitbulls. my question is.....what is the main reason for you disliking pitbulls? is it because of the media? just remember....they will do anything for a story that will intrigue you.

What do you like about the breed? Do you Recommend them? How do you go about finding a good Breeder?

if they are so gentle and it all depends on the owner why don't people have the guts to see how it works and provoke one. i doubt the result would be the same if they provoked a poodle.

( I have nothing against pits who are on the leash and also have a muzzle. I know quite some responsible owners who do this because they say the pits can kill you/or your dog if they feel threatened - that includes sensing that you are afraid of them. so, these are the only kind of people I respect because they treat their dogs in a good way but are always careful for the sake of others' safety.)

My vet wants $40.00 for my dogs perscription of antibiotics in treating a bladder infection, and I get antibiotics for a bladder infection for under $4.00 thru my medical insurance which covers most cost of my perscriptions. Is there a difference in antibiotics for a dog as there is to a humans, and if not, dont you think my vet should let me fill the perscription instead of buying it from him?
