it could be fleas, yet if you just cleaned the house, he could be re-acting to one of the cleaners you used....consider giving him a luke-warm bath, and let him soak for awhile in just the water, to make him more comfortable---you could also give him a Benadryl tablet 25 mg or less, human medicine, for allergies..my JRTerrier weighs 30 lbs, and the Vet had me give him human grade Benadryl 25 mg, when we had real bad fleas outside here in TX a few summers ago !!! if i can be of further help--email me back with any other concerns or ??you may have--good luck to you & your JRT !!!...Benadryl is also known as Diphenhydramine Hydrochloride and can be bought at Wal-mart equate brand, generic, pink & white box, 100 tablets 25 mg for about $ 4 only !! any more ???- holler back at me !! Benadryl will stop the dog from scratching himself crazy & making the irritation worse, and might make him drowsy or sleepy, which is good, because he will not be scratching !!!

The longer legged Bred is the AKC Parson Russell Terrier. The smaller Jack Russell Type in America is now Called the AKC "Russell Terrier." They are bred to have straight legs to the best of the ability they are 10-12 inches tall in the standard. For more information on the Small Russell terrier, google the American Russell Terrier Club for specifics and breeder referrals for the Russell Terrier 10-12 inches.

It may be from heat. Also, not sure when you bath him last, but, be sure you rinse all the soap and get him really dry in the area. It may be from the Carpet Cleaner not sure what you could do on that. This all I really know.
