Can any one out there tell me if that law proposed in Ca. managed to get passed........I was told that they where trying to get ALL pits or pit look alikes put down regardless..............ie the BSL...... I have tried to find this out for sure but not really very clear if it got passed.

Reason is that I have a pit who is the biggest softie in the world [unless you break in lol lol] and if it got passed there then it may just travel into my state.

Help and advice most welcome. Thank you

I was invited to the Iditarod in Alaska this March with a friend, but I don't think that I am eligible to compete in this race myself, and this race lasts about ten days.

So, in my time spent waiting for the racers to show up to finish in Nome, I want to do some sled dog racing of my own. I don't have a dog of my own, but the neighbor girl has a Havanese, and I know that she would let me use it.

Her Havanese has short, stubby legs, and it has a lot of hair in its eyes. I would assume that since the limbs are short, this dog would most likey have good circulation compared to a dog with long limbs. Also, the hair would keep the snow out of its eyes.

I would like to make the Havanese the first member of my sledding team if it won't excessively endanger its life.

I don't really want a heavy shedder. I'm okay with grooming, just not too too much, like a show poodle. I'm not a couch potato, so a energetic and playful dog is best for me. I'd like a fairly intelligent dog, who is not a big time barker or biter. Can you suggest to me some breeds that would suit my lifestyle best? Thanks!! Happy New Year!!

I seriously doubt it otherwise they would be putting their money where their mouth is.Instead of talking about something they know nothing about.I rarely ever see a stray dog in my neighborhood if I do and it comes to my house I look until I find the owner. If I don't find the owner i advertise in local paper and put out flyers.Never had to take one to a shelter.

I have a Peke-A -Poo (I don't know what that is either) and what looks like a Corgi.

The Peke is named Monkey Man
The Corgi is named Miss Piggy

Piggy acts like she's scared of her own shadow and won't play with any of the dog toys I bought. If you pick her up she goes stiff as a board. She wants to be petted all the time. She sticks her nose in her food bowl and throws it all over the floor.

Monkey Man has severe separation anxiety. I've tried everything I can think of (except drugs) but he still goes nuts when I leave. When I leave I have to put him in a crate or he wil pee and poo all over my apartment. Even though I make him do his business before I leave, when I get home he's done his business in the crate again. I trained them to use a litter box but if I don't watch him when he on the patio he pee's on everything. What is wrong with them???????

I have been looking for an older female dog for ages now and have had no luck. We live in a spacious flat that overlooks parks and would walk her 2 times each day. So we need an old lady really.

I am really experienced with dogs having grown up with rescue dogs and my mum is seriously doggy(too many Barbara Woodward books)! And now I am in a position to have my own. I or my boyfriend is always in.

But having looked at all the rescue centres there are no female dogs that are old enough and so suitable to live in a flat. Also I have a 6 yr old sister which visits me. So I know its a tall order.

DO YOU KNOW ANY RESCUE CENTRES THAT TAKE IN LOTS OF OLDER BI*TCH DOGS THAT I CAN TRY OR ANY FEMALES LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME?

I can't afford to pay for one, only the vet bills. The dog will be taken great care of. I live in the state of Ohio, can travel to Indiana, Pennslyvania, New York, and Kentucky.

Ive had my dog a lab/collie cross over 2 and a half yrs now. He has always been a bit naughty, but Ive managed to straighten out most of his issues with vigourous exercise. Now however he has started barking at people who are just walking down the river bank, on his lead he doesnt make a sound but off he charges at people and terrifies them, I dont know where this has come from as he has never done it b4. Id really appreciate some help with this as he is a hyper dog who needs the freedom to run off his energy, and at the minute i just cant allow it for his own safety and others. thanks

This afternoon, we found 3 stray pups about a mile from our house. We know they were dumped. There are only a couple of houses down the road from where we live and we know what dogs they have. We stopped and picked them up and brought them home. They are such sweet dogs. Not sure what kind, maybe lab/heeler mix, or a bird dog mix. They are mostly black with spots on the legs, lot of white on their chests. We couldn't just leave them there to starve. They were not wild, so it is evident that the people cared for them, and then just dumped them like they did. Now we will vaccinate and worm them, have the vet check them and find them good homes.

I put an order into a breeder that breeds breeds like Chi-Poos, Bichon-Poos, Yorkie-Poos etc. to buy a female Yorkie-Poo (paid a deposit of $250 - total cost is $700) and a female Chi-Poo (paid deposit of $350 - total is $820). I have a few questions about these breeds as I can't find much information on them. I looked at http://dogbreedinfo.com and it said to research both breeds, so, that's what I did. I researched everything there is to know about Yorkies, Chihuahuas and Poodles. I still have some questions about the mix breed, not the individual breed. First, will they shed as much (crossed with Poodle, should shed less)? What would it's temperament be? How will they react to my 4 y/o male (N) Bichon Frise and my 7 y/o female (S) Maltese? How big will they get (weigh & height wise)? Are they good with cats? Are they good with kids of all ages?

For those who don't know, I want these dogs as PETS, not to breed.

Our 2 year old Dachshund-Schnauzer is having trouble in her crate during the day while we are gone and overnight. We follow the food label for her size (6lbs) and still she is having accidents. Is it safe to feed her less? We can't seem to get her crate trained again!

Ok well i'm getting a male chihuahua (in along time but I just want to prepare) and since in the day I have school, I'm going to put him in the crate and I will supply water and food. When he's thirsty, he will drink the water, of course, but I'm worried, because if water gets in a chi's ear, it's going to be a health issue, so how do I avoid my chi getting water in it's ear?
