Yes, as it is same breed, just diferent bloodlines. They will both be registeted as Chihuahuas. The appleheaded ones are the correct Chihuahua, by the breed standards.
It is widely accepted that the appleheaded Chihuahuas have some Manchester terrier and/or Toy terrier, in their secret background.

Deerhead Chihuahuas have bigger ears, resembling the antlers of a deer, therefore the name,. They're also positioned on the side of head, instead of right on top, and have a longer muzzle than the applehead one.
The term "deerhead" is not commonly known, nor used, in the southern states (USA). The term used is "Mexican" or "Taco Bell" Chihuahua.
They're the same breed, but with different looks, and yes, you can breed the two different looks.
I'm the proud owner of both looks, and of one that is the mix of the two. Gringo is his name, and he's the cutest thing ever: big ears, not on top, not on the side, but just between the two positions; apple shaped head, but with a longer muzzle. :o)

Hello, I have not had much experience with Chihuahuas, but as far as I know, the rounded apple head is a distinctive hallmark (trade mark) of the breed. So, yes, it may be possible that your dog is a chihuahua cross. You can get precise DNA tests at your veterinarian. Usually, when you meet a breeder, he or she should allow you to see the mother. Sometimes the sire won't be there, but the dam, no, I am not swearing, should ALWAYS be there. An absence of the mother is a red flag, so this may have been a puppy mill or bad breeder who you got this dog from. You may want to notify you local animal rescue group or shelter about this person.

Seeing as how a Chihuahua is a Chihuahua of course. They are the same breed.

However before considering breeding health tests ( not just simple vet exams) must be done, pedigrees must be researched for health issues, temperament issues, to see if they will compliment each other, the dogs need to be shown or evalauted to see that they meet breed standard and they must be at least 2 years old.

They are the same breed. One has a correct head, the other incorrect.
