Kill the stupid dog, Kandie. Kill it without prejudice. And then throw the corpse of the cur onto the prairie, where it can be enjoyed by the fowl.

It depends on the dogs age, I would take the dog to the vet and get him/her checked. The dog could just have a weak bladder or it can be caused from not being let out enough. I have a 19 year old dog and it looses control sometimes, but I would never put it to sleep unless the dog was in untreatable pain. Maybe try getting pee-pads for the dog, I know they sell them in pet store's. Or maybe think about possibly getting a doggy door installed so when the dog has to go, it can come and go as it please. If that is not possible maybe get a dog house with something in it to keep the dog warm and put a little food and plenty of water out for a couple hours during the day, weather permitting. But, don't leave the dog out there day and night, it needs to be treated like you want to be treated.

I feel for the dog. If he didn't do this in the past, Its a sign something is wrong. Animals can't talk so when they start doing something they normally don't do its time to take him to a vet, You said you have a baby. Maybe he don't want the baby crawling around on his floor so he could just be marking his spot. I would take him to the vet and have him checked over. Maybe spending a little extra time with him might help. He knows you don't like him so animals have a way of showing you he don't like you either. good luck. And remember its not the dogs fault you don't like him. Put a quilt or sheet down on the floor that way the baby is not on the carpet.

Could the dog be jealous of the baby?....House pets love to get even and even if the attention he is getting from peeing in the house is negative, it is still attention.
When we brought our baby home I had read a book that said put the baby on the floor and let the dog sniff, lick, whatever, for as long as it wanted, yes it killed me but I was assured by the book that the baby would be fine and that it would create a good relationhip and the dog would not be jealoous...and our dog never was....
It could also mean the dog has a bladder infection or is sick...sounds like it time to visit the vet...
I don't think you sound evil by the way, I hate it when animals do stuff to the carpets or furniture...it just is a major pain and ruins stuff that at least in my case, I can not afford to replace...good luck.

you really shouldn't wish that on a living creature you know..but since you want an answer, yes dogs do have bladder control problems when they get older, so that could be a possibility. also, it could be a territorial thing. once a male dog makes his mark, he'll continue to mark the same place. try using something like miracle (a cleaner for animal stains and the like) on the area he is marking; this will usually get the scent off and keep him away from that spot (if that's the problem)

You should never "hope" that a living thing is close to death... but, yes, a lack of bladder control can be a symptom of old age in dogs. However, it could also be caused by a lack of exercise, not being take outside often enough to go potty, diabetes, a urinary tract infection, etc. You'll need to have a vet check the dog to be sure.

Well, just like people, when a dog gets old they can lose bladder control. This is an easy fix though by using a belly wrap and putting a pad in it...

Have you had him checked for a bladder infection?

Yes he is probly is going crazy because he is so old.If it get worse or if he starts doing more werid things and you cant care for him any more you may have to put him to sleep.Or just chain him up in the back yard if it is not hot or to cold out pervide some shelter to if he is going to hang out there for a long time. Also food and water

Please take the dog to the vet obviously there are medical issues involved. If it is old age the vet can prescribe medicine for it.
