Vets report more disease and much greater level of dental decay in dogs over the last 20 years. I hear in US they even have dog dentists for god's sake!

This coincides with the introduction of the widespread use of commercial dry and canned food.

I often work in the country and I notice dogs fed on meat, bones and scraps seem to be in superior health to those feed the convenience diet of a can or some dry.

Some country vets have told me the natural, unprocessed diet is the best.

Can man produce food in some factory as good as nature or is he just having him self on?

Some owners who feed the commercial stuff tell me their dog likes it and he seems ok but I wonder about the long term effects on a dog of a diet that may be internally foreign to him.

I encounter a lot of old dogs who develop degenerate diseases which some vets suggest is due to a processed diet with is unbalanced and deviod of a lot of enzymes.

CDF is convenient, cheap and less work for the owner.

Will it be ok to board my 11 week old english bulldog. My husband and I are going out of town and it is hard to find a hotel that will take a dog. We want to bring him but if we cant I was wanting to know if it would hurt him (emotionally) to leave him with the vet boardered for about a week. I don't want him to forget me.

I have a nine-month old bassett hound who seems to be panting more today than usual. It's a few degrees warmer in the house than normal, but it's only around 62 degrees. His activity level is the same, and the only thing that seems different about him is that he might be warmer than usual. He was at the vet a couple of months ago, and he didn't have any heart or lung problems at that time. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I would like to feed my dog a well balanced diet that is the optimum available. I have an 80 pound Chocolate Lab female and I want something to keep her joints in good health as well. I'm not sure which is the best organic dog food as I have never fed her any organic or natural foods..she is on Science Diet right now and I have heard recently some not good things about that. Tell me how your pets have responded to organic foods.

when my doxen, ziggy, was a puppy, he could ride in cars perfectly fine. but now that he is growing up a bit, he constantly drools in the car, and has puked. should i simply give him some kindof medicine? if so, what kind? or should i take him in the car more often to cure him of this? will he grow out of it?

What can I say to best counsel my friend whose dog recently died? He's very upset about it because they were so close and because he was there to experience her death.

My female shetland sheepdog who is 6 years old has mild hip dysplasia in her back legs, and after long walks she is often limping. I have taken her to the vet but all that resulted in was some mysterious glucosamine [sp. ?] tablets.

Looking for a medium size puppie (bigger wouldn't be a problem). If your dog is pregnant, let me know because I would like one for srping time.

Thanks!

Does anyone know about dog vitamins, the pros and cons, if they are necessary, and how much they help.

I am also looking for the best food options for a large, 8 month old Siberian/mal mix? I want to keep his fur smooth, and his life long.
Cost is not an option. (What about can food? yes or no?)

Thank you very much! Any advice is appreciated.
