I have always heard that one should never ever have eye contact with a dog for a sustained amount of time. This is supposed to be a dominance issue. Is this correct? I am an animal love to the millionth degree, and considering getting a pooch... but... I love to look at my animals.... and.... I don't want to get attacked while doing so.. I know it may sound silly... but.........I had dogs when I was a kid and I don't ever remember worrying about such things... but now, as an older person, it makes you wonder... as I think eyes are amazing, and windows to the soul (of an animal, as well as to a human)... well, I think they are just amazing to gaze into... am I setting myself up for disaster if I gaze lovingly into the eyes of a dog.....should I just pass and get another cat....
thanks for your input
p.s. I've recently heard that gazing into the eyes of your cat isn't the smartest thing in the world either...lol

Well my dog is 12 years old and she is a very small Westie. Just recently she got bit by a venomous snake and my mom took her to the vet for a check up on her leg. The vet said she should consider getting her eyesight fixed, she is sort of blind in one eye and completely in the other, but my mom thinks she will only (sadly) live for another few months, but the vet insisted that Shelly will live for another 2 or 3 years. Should my family get Shelly's eyesight fixed???

it happend a few days ago. we called the vette he said to wait and see if it pass's. I don't think it has passed. but am not positive.
he isnt acting sick or anything. but i havn't seen it in any of his stools.

time to take him to the vette what do you think? i don't think a rubber passefier would be degraded with stomach acid so I have a feeling its stuck in him somewhere.

I gave him a bath this morning and he was fine but just a few hours later my husband asked me what happened that he has a big lump on his back. It's golf-ball sized...feels pretty hard and appeared suddenly. He doesn't seem to mind it much or even notice it is there when touched. I did a google search and found a similar post here from another user with a similar problem w/her dog.
Moose just received his 2nd vaccination this past Tues. (4 days ago)..AND he was microchipped. Could it be a reaction? Anyone who has experienced this, I would love to hear from you. If the bump has not receded, I'll be taking him to the vet on Monday.

What should be the name of my new female chiwawha puppy?
i want a short but unique name. Nothing on the lines of maggie or sam. Somthing unique that everyone would be like wow thats a cool name. I would appreciate it. Ive looked on sites to find names but none catch my eye. So i was hoping everyone else could think of one for me.

Thanks
have a good day
ashley

I am assuming it is a reaction to my new baby or his father and her not getting the attention she wants. Should I punish her for deliberatly pissing in front of me?
