Is it an umbilical hernia? These are actually quite common. I have been told in the past that you shouldn't breed from a female with an unbilical hernia as the pups may fall into the hernia and choke. However, this depends on how large or small the hernia is. I have bred from a yorkie with an umbilical hernia and all was fine - noting that her umbilical hernia was tiny and it actually shrunk in size!! That being said, I had her hernia repaired, it opened up again, and I had to have it repaired again! I wouldn't breed from a girl with an umbilical hernia again, no matter how small. I fall in love way too hard with my dogs to put them at risk. In terms of keeping her away from male dogs. You do probably want to do that until you have her spayed. There's no point in keeping her entire and spaying will decrease certain cancers (and obviously eliminate uterine cancer!). Once she's spayed, she will be fine around male dogs. Take note though that even if she isn't spayed, you'll only need to keep her away from males whilst she's in heat.

Uhhh...what exactly are you asking?? Does it have an umbilical hernia??? If so, get it repaired when it is spayed and it will be done and over with. Not sure what exactly keeping it away from male dogs is going to do.

I actually have a chihuahua too and he's 13 years previous! it is going to be very annoying to maintain them aside! in case you would be able to desire to enable one stay at yet another abode it probable could be greater handy to maintain the male and deliver away the female to a house ideally to a house she has been to previously perhaps your mum and dad or a interior of sight chum which you recognize you may believe that would possibly under no circumstances harm a canines or that would desire to guard an twist of fate with out out getting disturbed. good luck! You should get her spayed, then you don't have to worry about males.
