I am assuming it is a reaction to my new baby or his father and her not getting the attention she wants. Should I punish her for deliberatly pissing in front of me?

I had the same problem with my dog after my boyfriend & I moved in together, but it turned out he had a bladder infection & just couldn't help it. If it's behavioral, the only thing that will help her is time to adjust. And if it IS deliberate, then she should be punished ( just like with a kid for deliberate bad behavior). I would recommend a trip to the vet to rule out a physical problem first though.

If you find the bitter apple spray in the pet store l have found it is excellent. If this doesn't work you can complain and try another one.

The real secret to success is training however. It is really important those facts you brought with your questions.

The new arrival, the changes, effect our pets as much as it effects us.

So she is clearly distressed and is clearly letting you and the baby know that this is her home.

Thus the marking. It really is that simple.

She is doing it in front of you because she is asserting herself saying in essence, 'hey you, l am gonna show you, l am a very important tpart of this family and this is my home."

Looking at the situation this way can help you see that you need to do two things, first you must focus on the positive and reward it, that means taking the time to make her feel an important part of everyone's life, give her jobs, let her know you enjoy her and need her [a little smuchie talk here] and invite her to join you and the baby or dad and the baby...and reward her every single time.

Then you will find she stops peeing, and next time she does, sternly tell her this in a 'no, bad girl', you don't have to yell or carry on, she is obviously very smart and will get it, before you know it she will seek the positive again, and try to make you happy.

All this shows is that she is sensitive and intelligent, making her a fantastic companion for your baby...good luck!

Maybe it's because you talk about her as if she is the size of a Tea Cup?
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A "TEA CUP" ANYTHING!!!!!
Gee, there are some real idiots here. People get sucked into buying a "TEA CUP" puppy for thousands of dollars and really, all they're getting is the UN-HEALTHY RUNT of the litter!
