Please do NOT go to a pet shop and buy a puppy. They come from horrible puppy mills that breed dogs over and over to make money! 90% are riddled with hereditary diseases, are sick and you will need to spend hundreds in vet bills!
If you want a good, healthy, properly bred puppy; search on www.google.com for breeders around the world. Or if you want a Chihuahua for example, go to www.google.com and type 'Chihuahua breeders'. Breeders are the only people you can trust.
