We have a shitzu/maltese at the moment and want something a little bigger but not too big as we only have a small yard. What do people suggest? I also want something with a better temperment than my ****/malt cause he is cranky.

Is there really a difference if you feed your dog the more expensive food?
My vet suggested a change in food but I haven't noticed a difference, except at the registar. What should I be looking for as a sign of a good or bad food?
I have a weimaraner who eats anything.

dirty ears. there are no mites, and I keep the hair pulled. I'm a groomer so I know to do that. most commercial ear cleaners are oily, or they they leave a residue. i've tried alcohol, peroxide and a solution of warm water and a drop of Dawn. Nothing really works well

My dog was outside today playing in the yard. Another dog got into the yard and the two of them...ahem...mated. I was unable to stop it before the copulation was complete but since then I brought her inside and fed her and loved on her. But she also has been acting real lethargic and sad. The dog was a good deal bigger than she was but she wasn't bleeding or anything and she wasn't hurt. Is that something that just happens with dogs after they've mated for the first time?

I think my adopted puppy (on weds) 4 days later (sun) brought her back to north shore animal league hospital (shelter where we got her) they admitted her. They think pneumonia. She is a mix breed of what they don't know. I love her to death already. She has a temp of 105. Do you think she will make it? Also am I financially responsible? is anyone else familiar with nsal? it is in long island, ny. This is the 3rd pet that I know of from here, that is very sick a few days after being home. Any ideas suggestions? How long is recovery?? pooor baby.

I just got a cat he's about 5 months so he's not really big. Me and my boyfriend are getting a house and I want to bring him with me but my boyfriend has a pitt bull. We sleep with him everynight and he's so sweet and gentle. But I took Mr. Smithers(the cat) over there and Bryan had Elvis(the dog) by the collar. I was so scared and Elvis licked him a lot but I'm just to scared to let them be loose togetherbecause Mr. Smithers wouldn't have a chance. I feel like Elvis will hurt him if we are not there. What should I do we are moving out in a month.

I have a dog and there is a good chance that she might be pregnant. I've never had a dog that has had puppies before so I was just curious if she will act any different if she is pregnant?

My friend and I found a wandering female rottweiler the other day, we have tried to find her owners but none can be found. So, we are trying very hard to find a good home for her because neither one of us can keep her. She is an adult and we are trying to have her spayed. She loves people, is good with kids and some dogs. She should not be in a home with small dogs or cats. She knows how to "sit" and walks well on a leash and loves to go for car rides. She really needs a good home and she is free. Email me for pictures if you are intersted in adopting her.

my grown female (6 yrs.) has become dog agressive with the younger female (9 months), they are not from the same family, let alone the same blood line, the grown is a razor back and the younger is a red nose, we want to get them fixed in hopes it may help with the need to control one another but is it worth the amount it will cost?

This is not a joke. I have had the dog about 5 weeks now, he is about 14 or 15 weeks old by now. He has yet to learn to go outside, and we have tried everything, including crate training. He just holds it until we take him out, and he wont go outside either. He will only use the bathroom inside. But the main problem is that he wont stay off my bed. I have thrown him of the bed hundreds of times (not violently, just pushed him off) and also tried spanking him when hes caught on the bed and also said NO and pointed to the bed. What can i do to help him understand these things? I really do think he is stupid or something. BTW hes a beagle.

Please don't copy and paste the info from other sites. I've already read them. I need people to tell me from pure experiences from owning a beagle. I want to know how they are when they are left alone...are they destructive? Are they good with children, other pets, and strangers? Do they bark too much?? Are they very affectionate? Are they hyper. Please tell me from experience only....not from other web sites. Thanks. I'm thinking about getting one in the future if I can.
