My 10 month old Jack Russel changed her coat from a smooth and short to a long and crispy, specially on her back.
Is this normal? Is it a winter coat and it will eventually get back to a short furr again?

I am looking to fundraise for a local project called "Project Jessie" where this couple saves, nurses and finds permanent loving homes for dogs that have ended up in shelters.

They do this because of pound seizure laws in Ontario, which allows a dog (or cat) to be distroyed after 3 days if not claimed, or sold for $2-$6 to research labs which ends in death.

Me and my animal advocate group want to spread awareness and raise money for the dogs mounding vet bills. Please give me some ideas! It doesn't have to be dog related, but it could.

thank you!!!

My golden retriever had puppies a month ago and since we started introducing solid food to the puppies she has freaked out! If she is eating and they come up to her she will growl and bite them. I make sure she has enough food and put down 2 separate bowls for them...well she goes and eats all their food first (they can't reach her bowl). The other day, I swear, she ate 20 cups of food, then was sick! Same with the water she will drink all their water. She still nurses and grooms them and as long as she is not eating they can crawl all over her. Has anyone had this happen to them and do you know why it happens? Is it normal?
I have separated them at feeding times now, but am really curious as to why she would do this....

I have a puppy and i don't know what breed she is. I looked all over the websites and can't find a picture that looks like her. I wanna know if anyone knows if there's a website that is like a game where you put 2 breeds together and see what their pups would look like.......understand? I don't want a website where it's like a pet store or an animal shelter......I want one that is like a game where you can breed your own dog to find out what their pups would look like. lmk!

we recently adopted a 1 year old dog from an animal shelter. we are very happy with him, except he has made a couple of potty mistakes the last two nights. it has been many years since we had to house train a dog do you all have any suggestions of doing it quickly and without much distress to the family and the dog. my wife is getting frustrated with this situation and i do not want to take the dog back to the shelter so any help would be greatly appreciated. also what is a good home cleaning remedy to clean up any urine that soils the carpet??

I've never been a dog lover (scared of them, didn't like the smell, you name it). This is because despite all of the wonderful stories my father told me of dogs he's own in his life, the only experience I 've ever had with them was being chased. Yet, I am very fascinated with them...especially dogs that are stereotypically seen as brave (i.e., dobermans, rotts, german shepards, etc). I think I'm going to make the 10 yr commitment and purchase a dog. However, I don't want a small punk dog that's not intimidating and/or won't stick up for me. And I don't want a huge dog that's too much for me to handle. I want a smart dog that's friendly to me and my friends, has a somewhat aggressive stature, and can defend when it's time to defend. I was thinking of maybe a boxer. What do you think?

My vet told me I can take my puppy for short outdoor walks outdoors (2 weeks after his second set of shots) as long as I don't let him near other dogs and their feces...but can a puppy catch parvo from sniffing another dogs' urine?

He was raised on pro peak but now does not want to eat it. So I now have to cook the steak and chicken so I know he will not go hungry.

Okay, i posted a similar question yesterday, but people were giving me totally unrelated answers so i'm going to try to be more specific. I'm am very interested in buying a chihuahua and ONLY one. I'm living by myself in a spacious house but will be going to school from 9-3 three days a week. Would a chihuahua be able to live happily with me in these conditions or is 6 hours 3 days a week too much alone time? Thanks! I really appreciate the feedback...

My 16wk old yorkie had a severe case of hypoglycemia this morning, but now he is doing a little better. He will probably be in the hospital for another 3 nights or so, but right now I'm wondering if there are long term effects that come with this. Last night, he was fine at 1:00am, this morning at 8:00am, his body was limp, tongue hanging out, and had his eyes rolled back. He definately suffered from a seizure. :-( Anybody have experience with this? Any harmful after effects?
