I am looking to fundraise for a local project called "Project Jessie" where this couple saves, nurses and finds permanent loving homes for dogs that have ended up in shelters.
They do this because of pound seizure laws in Ontario, which allows a dog (or cat) to be distroyed after 3 days if not claimed, or sold for $2-$6 to research labs which ends in death.
Me and my animal advocate group want to spread awareness and raise money for the dogs mounding vet bills. Please give me some ideas! It doesn't have to be dog related, but it could.
thank you!!!

Aww! First of all, I have to say what you are doing is very sweet. Second, a good idea is to ask family members to donate. That is a good way to start. Ask them to spread it around to their friends and then it'll be an endless chain of money. Oh, and you should go to pet stores and go to the dog food aisle or chew toy aisle. You'll find people who are more interested there, because they have dogs of their own. Please, dont try the cat area, it may result in ignoration.

in case you have the choose to make issues to sell, dogs cookeis and braided fleece toys are continuously a staple. If everyone who lives close to you has a experienced agility dogs and a few kit, you may set up a path, do an indication, and enable different dogs proprietors run their dogs with the aid of for a small value.

The Greyhound Rescue out here does Dog Washes. They charge $10 to wash & dry your dog.
If you have someone who can do it try having a microchipping clinic, you can get the kit for reasonable so you can make a little profit on each dog you do.
Hold a Fun Match obedience show...look for dog training clubs to help you with this.

I think that a Doggy Costume contest would be great. Have people bring their dogs to the event and the best dressed one wins....you could have a theme. Plus, people might just wanna come to watch. Contact your local newspaper and tell them to cover this event. You could also have baked goods for dogs there for sale.....a pet photo contest? Um, I can't think of anything else.

The animal defense league has giant "garage" sales that people donate items to. It's easy to get people to donate things they don't need anymore for a good cause.

Also, do a campaign to have people donate bags of food, litter, bleach, shampoos, flea and tick treatments, nail clippers, brushes, etc that can be given to this couple to care for the dogs and cats they take in.
Hope this helps!
