Grape and raisin poisonings in Dogs
Recently, there was a letter in the AVMA Journal from Dr. Gwaltney-Brant and others at the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center discussing grape and raisin poisoning in dogs. Apparently, grapes and raisins can be toxic to dogs when ingested in large quantities.
The grapes and raisins came from varied sources, including being eaten off the vine directly. The dogs exhibited gastrointestinal signs including vomiting and diarrhea and then signs of kidney failure with an onset of severe kidney signs starting about 24 hours after ingestion of the grapes or raisins. The amount of grapes eaten varied between 9oz. and 2 lbs., which worked out to be between 0.41 and 1.1 oz/kg of body weight. Two dogs died directly from the toxicity, three were euthanized due to poor response to treatment and five dogs lived. Due to the severity of the signs and the potential for death, the veterinarians as the poison control center advocate aggressive treatment for any dogs suggested of ingesting excessive amounts of grapes or raisins, including inducing vomiting, stomach lavage (stomach pumping) and administration of activated charcoal, followed by intravenous fluid therapy for at least 48 hours or as indicated based on the results of blood tests for kidney damage.
I have fed my dogs a few grapes every now and then for years, so I don't think there is a need to panic if a dog eats three or four grapes but if the whole bunch is missing from the table one day, it would be good to think about watching for any signs of a toxic reaction.

A little piece of grape will be okay. Sounds like you already know that grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs, but this would normally be in larger amounts. Chihuahua's are tiny little ones though, so I can see why you'd be worried.

Grapes and raisins are toxic to dogs and can even be in small quanties. Keep an eye on him or her and they start vomitting, stop eating, develop diarrhea, show signs of abdominal pain or become really quiet or lethargic get them to the vet.
Grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in a dog. Just keep an eye on him or her and if any of the symptoms occur take him or her to the vet.
Onions, chocolate, caffeine, and alcohol are all extremely dangerous for your dog so be careful not to feed any of these items to him or her.
If you want to feed your dog vegetables carrots are a good choice, they are crunchy and my four chihuahua's all love them. The size of the piece you give them depends on the size of your dog and if they chew or swallow something whole. Take care and I think your dog will probably be fine.
Chi's are the best.

I have a friend who has a little Yorkie and the dog loves grapes! I have never heard that grapes are toxic to dogs.
Sense he didn't eat the whole grape I think he will be fine.
he may have a little loose stools but more than likely not sense it was only a piece of a grape.

Grapes can be toxic to dogs but it is not understood why. Not all dogs are affected. I don't think you are likely to have a problem if only a small amount was eaten. Just keep an eye out for any vomitting or change in behaviour.

Grapes won't kill your dog, but it will surely give them stomach problems if they consume a lot of grapes. Raisins also have the same affect. I wouldn't worry about a little piece though.

Grapes and raisins are very toxic to dogs but a very small piece should be OK. You can force your dog to vomit it up with peroxide. Its always good to check with you vet to know how much peroxide per pounds...for future reference.
But you should be OK right now.
