Not enough info but I would take a cloth, clean and soft and put some betadine or warm salt water on it and try to get all the stuff out of the bump. It may be a boil. Use gloves or make sure not to touch it and wash hands well before and after. Then put some peroxide and warm water in the opening as well as possible. Then keep putting warm compresses on it to keep it open and betadine is good because it doesn't burn like peroxide can. Once it appears to be cleaned out you can stop that and just put some antibiotic ointment on it. This advice is without knowing where or anything else the bump is. It is an infection. Keep the pup confined to one room and it's own bedding so it doesn't spread this around the house and people. Once it dries up you can begin to allow it more freedom. If it doesn't improve in a week get to the vet, it may be a parasite or need an antibiotic. Good luck.

Take him to the vet and don't wait a week. Sounds like an abscess but without seeing it, it is hard tell. You need to have him checked to find out and put on antibiotics. If the infection gets too bad, you will have a very sick dog.

My cat used to get these all the time when he was an outdoor kitty. His came from being bitten either by another cat or an insect. This would cause a cyst that would drain. Disgusting but relatively harmless as long as infection doesn't set in. I used to just clean him with warm water as they drained. My guess would be this is what's happened to your puppy. If it doesn't resolve itself soon or shows signs of infection, see the vet to be sure. Hope that helps =D

This IS an infection. Right now. It needs to be cleaned by a professional, and your puppy needs an antibiotic. It MAY clear up by itself, but if it doesn't, you could have a real mess.

clean it up with warm water and a soft cloth. Doggie will lick it clean. If in a week it does not look better the only solution is to take it to the vet.

Take it to a vet. Do not try to guess what it could be, you might be wrong and it could die. If it was your child you wouldn't try to figure it out yourself you'd take it to the doctor same care should apply to your puppy.

Did the pup recently get bitten? If stinky pus is coming out of it, this is very good. It is when it does not drain that you have to take to the vet and have them lance. GOD BLESS YOU! sus04mc@yahoo.com

Sounds like a cyst. What do you mean by "big", where is it located, how long has your puppy had it, and what kind of stuff is coming out?
