My 10 month old Jack Russel changed her coat from a smooth and short to a long and crispy, specially on her back.
Is this normal? Is it a winter coat and it will eventually get back to a short furr again?

It would sound as tho you have a rough coat terrier rather than the smooth coated ones.

I own a smooth coat and she never grows a longer rougher coat for winter. It sounds as tho your pup is simply growing up and showing her adult coat.

They are sweet dogs and love to do tricks...repetitive training every day for a bit will have your sweetheart changing into a gorgeous lovable girl.

All the best to you both.

damaged coated signifies that the coat received't lay flat, that the hair is wiry and has some curl to it. damaged coated canines want to be stripped (combed with a good toothed comb) to stay away from the coat from turning out to be too thick and searching like he has been licking a mild socket. All canines have a substitute of coat, they drop their puppy coats as they attain about 6 months or so and initiate to advance of their human being coats. in case you don't want to have a wild and wooly searching canines you are able to both have him stripped or clipped. both of which will substitute his coat. also once you've him neutered the coat may also substitute to a softer and finer coat which will grow to be thicker. completely well-known.

it may be a rough coated breed of Jack Russell, or part there of.
Just get a good grooming comb and brush and groom a couple of times a week.

Your dog is normal & will continue to have long hair but if you give her a nice shampoo with Pert or any shampoo then a nice conditioner her coat should be softer for awhile

The breed has *3* coat types...smooth,broken & rough.

It sounds like you have a BROKEN & it just took a while for it to grow.
NO,it WON'T be smooth again.Broken coats need to be HAND-STRIPPED!
