I am watching my mom's dog for the week and I left for an hour to work out. The dog got into a bag of wrapped halloween candy I had, unwrapped 3 kit kat bars and ate them. I have heard that chocolate is really bad for dogs. What should I do and what can happen?? It's a pomeranian.

I am looking for another Great Dane for a companion for my Great Dane "Sarge". He is lonely cuz he's not exactly little anymore, and we work a lot now, and I would like for him to have a friend. I would prefer a Female, so he can get that hyperness he has out of him also...so if you live around or in alabama or Georiga or even the bottom of tennessee on the East side, let me know..can pay up to 200 or would like for Cheaper or free..thanks!

Hi, I am trying to figure out the cheapest yet nice looking, easiest way to build or buy a large dog pin for a great dane. I want it to look decent but I dont have the biggest budget. Please no stupid answers like, you shouldnt have a dog, or something stupid, i just moved into this house and I need a fence/pin....so if you can help, I'd appreciate it. My dog seems to be very stressed lately. I have never failed doing daily walks and play but I notice that he is not doing his usual routine. He's not loosing weight. He does not look sick. But he seems to be very sad. Are there any home remedies to "destress" him? What do you think are the probable causes his stress?

I have dogs and cats. My oldest, a rotweiler named Zoe, has taken to regularly peeing on my carpet. Sadly my carpet was brand new a year ago and has been shampooed so many times. I have people coming over this weekend an will die of embarassment if they see my carpet in the state it is in now, not to mention the smell.

Do you know of a good shampoo? Should I rent a steamer or is just a shampooer okay? Should I concider lifting the carpet and mopping the pad underneith? Any tips would be much appreiciated. Thank you!

This has happened about 3 times. Twice I was sleeping in bed and woke up as she was urinating right next to me. Last night I passed out on the sofa. I woke up this morning in a puddle of dog urine. This is absolutely disgusting and I have a 15 month old that I do not want around such germs or whatever. I love my dog, but she just can't get the hang of it. She also enjoys using one spot in my living room as her own personal bathroom. Any ideas as to why this is happening or how to make it stop? I greatly appreciate it. Thanks :)

okay so my dog is 3. is it okay to smack him on the butt when he is doing something that he KNOWS darn well that he is not supposed to be doing? i don't hit him hard--i love my dog. but is this considered animal abuse?
i have 7 pets, and i love them all to pieces and they seem to be happy. they are well fed, i play with them, cuddle them, and keep them clean.
so is what i'm doing considered wrong?

he is 3 years old. i always remove him immediately from my leg or whatever part of my body he is obsessing over, and i ignore him for a few minutes. but he doesn't seem to get the hint!!! i am his favorite person in the family, and he only does this with me. he is neutered, and that has helped some, but whenever he gets excited or nervous, he frantically humps me! and, uh, one time i went to show my mom something on my leg so i rolled my pant leg up to my thigh and my dog just ran as fast as he could, he was actually tripping over his feet, and he latched himself onto my leg. how gross is that? lol
what can i do????
i refuse to hit my dog (i mean, occasionaly i smack him on the butt when i catch him doing something that he KNOWS darn well that he isn't supposed to be doing, but i don't do it hard. AT ALL. i love my doggie :-).) so what can i do?

I'm a college student and my female rottie was recently diagnosed with addison's disease. I brought her into the vet becuase she was acting extremely lathargic, not eating, vomitting, etc. 4 days and $1400 later I had her home. My parents helped me out a great deal, but the monthly cost to treat her is over $200 a month for the rest of her life. Roughly $2400 a year. I can't stand the thought of "giving her away" (I'm her second home as it is - I've had her for a year) and "putting her down" makes makes me want to cry. I can't afford the treatments, my parents have already done more then they should have, and if she goes off the monthly injection of Percorten-V ($180 a month) she will die a very slow and cruel death. I've already looked online for the drug, but I can't find it any lower then $130. Can anybody give me any suggestions? I really don't want to put her to sleep, but I can't let her suffer either... Please help.

he just starts attacking the blankets and pawing at them and grunting and it honestly looks like he is having a seizure lol. coz he just like jerks around then all of a sudden he collappses and falls asleep! what is up with that? is there something wrong with him? lol

when i was pregnent i use to tell my chihuahua that this was our baby meaning hers and mineWell my chihuahua who is now 11mo.and now i have my newborn of 2 mos. the thing is my Chihuahua farah wants to be right beside my daughter Addison. When my daughter gets upset my chahuahua barks and runs to me... She acts like the baby is hers in a since . I don't mind it so much ; Farah is gentle with the baby. Ok. On the question can this be done. my sister hacked into my account. i was letting her email her friend because she couldn't remember her email. she's like 10. I own 2 dogs, a cat, and I am about to move onto a 6 acre. piece of land in a 2000 sq. ft house. I don't need to get "money" to buy a "dog" and i don't need the dog to get money from a dog show. Especially to buy a house. I am almost 14 why would I be paying to get a house. So don't think that I am irresponsible please. I have owned dogs all my life and have raised and trained them well.


I have already been accepted to go and work at a wildlife institute aswell as all the local animal shelters so i don't need a job, and I don't need money. i am soon going to be getting a wolf pup and have to help pay for that though. but i am not asking anyone to give me money. i will babysit and stuff to pay it off. So please don't think I m irresponsible. unless of course you mean about letting my little sis use the pc! lol

she had the laser surgery, and the vet tech said she needs to be crated and confined for 3 weeks, she's allowed to go out to potty but then needs to be crated again. 3 weeks straight in a crate??? that sounds really mean.
