My dog seems to be very stressed lately. I have never failed doing daily walks and play but I notice that he is not doing his usual routine. He's not loosing weight. He does not look sick. But he seems to be very sad. Are there any home remedies to "destress" him? What do you think are the probable causes his stress?

Few questions to try to answer better.
How old is the dog? How often is he left alone during the day? Does he have many interactive or interesting toys? How long are the walk and play times? Does he have any interaction with other people or dogs?
Really from your description it could be anything from he's just tired, to he's got an allergy, to he's actually depressed. (It has been cases with some dogs. Though I think that the owners are a little extreme about taking their dogs to therapy and getting them put on prozac... *rolls eyes*)
He may just be growing into the "grow up dog" phaze. My lab hasn't hit hers yet and she's 4, but it's different for every dog.
If you could answer these questions I'll try my best to answer again and help you out. ^^

my dog did the same thing and it turned out she had a condition called hypothyroidism. it's where their thyroid gland almost stops working. take him to the vet and run a blood test for it. if it comes back low, then they will put him on a thyroid hormone for life. in two weeks my dog got her spunk back. this ususally happens in dogs around 6-10 yrs of age and has no predisposition to breed. worth a shot totry it.
also, if you have changed his food that might be a problem too. aways worth a vet visit just to be sure.

Has anything changed in your household...new schedule, someone moved in, someone moved out??? If not, you might want to check with a vet just to be sure...it could be something you're not picking up on; dogs don't have to lose weight or look sick to have a problem.
