save your money and stay away from Petsmart or Petco obedience classes. Most of their "trainers" couldn't train a monkey to eat a banana. You can do the obedience training yourself. There are many books and articles online that give you step by step instructions. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Basic obedience is not hard to learn or teach. ALso, the more time and training you do with your dog, the more they will respect you as a person/pack member. SAVE YOUR MONEY. If you decide you want to spend money, buy a training movie or dvd.

I am assuming you mean obedience training and not toilet training. So I will offer my experience for that.
I have 4 dogs 2 of which are Jack Russels. I have a renter that has a Pomeranian. The pom is well trained and not so hyper. The older Jack is not as Hyper as when he was younger and before being fixed. The younger Jack has been fixed but still really hyper. He is nearly always pestering the 50+ lb Chow. She plays back and tolerates. When she gets tire of him she will bring the playing near and look up at me to make him stop.
Anyway, I find a lot of praise/love when they obey is long lasting. I very rarely had to hit any of them. Take a tin soda can, put in small rocks or beans and close it up. It might help to make several one for each room.
Whenever it misbehaves, shake the can at him and give a loud "NO or STOP". Then when it does put the can down and praise it. It may help to reward with treats. But only at the beginning then mainly praise.
Have daily once or twice a day training session of about 15 min each. Be patient it will respond and learn and you will be so happy. But I find that love and attention works best. Play with it a lot both in and outside. Good exercise for both of you.
Good luck.

A puppy class or a book to help show you how. Your dog is a small one so it's alot easier on you to train him. To begin, walk him on a leash to your left side, just behind your leg. Start wlking & repeat "heal", gently but firmly pulling him back into the right position. Repeat this command each time he pulls away..you really can't do this too many times! Stop every so often, ESPECIALLY when you come to a curb to cross the street, & command him to "SIT". Be confident & show him that he must do what YOU ask him to do. Just start there & get guidance for the rest....coming when you call, & getting him on a schedule for feeding & pooping are some important ones. Your dog wants you to tell him what to do & have disciplin & to know you're the boss (Alpha). It may seem harsh but your dog will be so much happier & well adjusted to have responsibility & disciplin. Good luck!!

It's ok about the spelling we forget about this HERE "CHECK SPELLING THAT'S HERE IN FRONT OF EYEBALLS IN BLUE PRINT " HAHA. FOR ME IT NEEDS TO BE IN A DARK BOLD PRINT. I understand your problem with your dog there i had a chihuahua named"LADY" I TRIED AS HARD AS I COULD TO GET HER TO USE THE bathroom outdoors. I finally gave in and gave her away. If your animal is young you can him in a small area like the bathroom with those bathroom pads that they have for training your pet at the pet stores of course and if i were i would also get a pet book on that particular animal and READ IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH cause there is someone else besides you and i that have raised these animals and can put some help on the subject for sure . HOPE YOU HAVE BETTER LUCK WITH YOUR CHIHUAHUA THAN I DID WITH THE ONE I HAD

I have a puppy and he is 5 months old now. I had him house broken by 3 months old. What I did I show him what door to go outside to and if he went potty in the house which he did; I showed him what he did wrong and I took him outside for a half hour. He like going one place in the house so laid down puppy pads.

Off to obedience class with the two off you.
Now you both need a GOOD obedience class - and that is NOT Petsmart or Petco.
GO here to find contacts in you area that can help you locate and obedience trainer who works with all breeds and who does AKC obedience competions:
http://www.akc.org/clubs/search/index.cf...
http://www.akc.org/clubs/search/index.cf... (set on all breeds)

Even it they are an hour or more away, they will know other people all over the state.

your dog is mostly hyper because he is a puppy still, as he gets older he will not be as hyper. if he is, you should look into some classes you can get him in.
