be glad puppy wants to be close to newborn without jealousy. You'll find she will be protective of baby.

Her behavior is her acceptance of something special to you... she knows.

Be Blessed!

Hello! first of all, you have to be aware and careful even if your dog is nice with the baby, because chihuahuas are extremely jealous dogs, that is one of the mayor problems about the chi breed. Don't ever trust to leave your baby with your chi by their own...it's not safe !!!! I have 2 chihuahuas and i know what I'm telling you, you should always supervise and be around when ever your chi get close or approaches your baby...... good luck and God bless....

She might just wonder what the heck the baby is. I have a Pug and whenever she hears a baby cry, she barks and carries on. I also think they might know that the baby is little. My pug is really good with babies. All she wants to do is sniff to see what it is and maybe lick the baby. My guess is she also might be a little scared if she comes running to you.

Your dog sees the baby was part of her "pack" and when the baby is upset she wants to help, she she goes to get you. (because she knows you can...she's smart) My friend's lab does that to their newborn as well. Its a good thing because you know the dog accepts the dog and when she is older she will protect her. :)

The same as it were a kid,the chihuahua is jealous, he´ll no longer be the center of attention.
