My dalmatian does that too! He puts his head down flat on the bed, plops over on his back, rolls around in the pillows and under the blankets until he wears himself out and falls asleep. It's a pretty funny thing to watch!

It's an animal thing. I grew up on a pig farm and my dad gave them straw for bedding. Before the pigs would get ready to sleep, they would nudge the straw around, throw it around, grunt all weird, and then plop down like lazy turds. I'm guessing a lot of animals do the same thing. Instinct.

My little dog does the same thing. He starts off by digging frantically, then rolling and growling at the same time. We get a good laugh out of him thats for sure. He's a shitzhu x.

My mini doxie loves to burrow in her blankets. I bought her some baby blankets that are her own. She gets all cuddled up and then goes to sleep. I think it's normal.

My dog does that too. I guess its just to get it exactly the way that they like it before they fall asleep.

My dog does the same thing, and I have no idea why; but I think it is normal. I think it is very funny; they look like they are grumpy children who need to nap. I laugh...

Its called nesting. alot of animals do this. It "plumps" up the bedding material. I love to watch my little peke do it. If I have any clothes on the floor he does it to them, He loves to sleep on my clothes!
