Can someone please help me. My neighbor keeps calling animal control because my toy poodle barks when he goes outside. He is never outside longer than 20 or 30 mins at a time. He barks if someone gets close to the fence or if another dog is around. I've had several complaints made against me by the same neighbor. What should I do. I am not getting rid of my poodle. However, I am afraid he may try to harm him. By the way, we all have fenced in yards.

We live on a corner lot ; even if she's in the house she barks maddly when people pass through the yard. She barks at my teen age sons friend when they come in. They are too busy(sarc.) to get to know her and some are afraid. (she's never done anything but bark). As I type this she is on the bed grunting and growling as the neighbourhood children pass through on their way home from school.

How do I get her to ignore people being here that don't want to deal with her?

2yr. old , rescued 2 mths ago. doberman/ger. shepard.

I have tryed having her lay down and stay and feed her treats. This works to a degree, but when boys come or go it's a big ruckouse(sp?) Should I just stick with that? Any other ideas?

Because its been messy ive put her in kids underwear with a hole cut for her tail to poke through (only when were inside). Its containing the mess (she goes all over the house- bedrooms etc) but i'm worried it may be bad for her, does she need to be able to clean herself constantly , could i cause any problems by doing this? Thanks

I broke a mercury thermometer and one of my 2 dogs swallowed the liquid mercury that came out of the tip. Do I have to worry? Some web sites say it is OK, some websites say it is toxic and needs to be treated.

My border collie is in heat for the first time. She is in her 2nd week of the period and has become very whiny and seem uncomfortable. Could it be cramps or muscle aches?

I just got my yorkie yesterday, we already took him to the vet. He is 3 mts old. They said he is healthy but he does have a caugh he is taking medication for. He seems happy, he is playing all the time and eating well. Lastnight he had his first bow movement and it was pretty soft. Toward the end, I noticed just a little bit of blood spots on the floor like it just dripped out. Is this normal or should I contact my vet. They did not ask for a stool sample, should I take them one just incase?

I jog a lot and am going to be home a lot so spending time with her or him won't be an issue. I was just curious. Thank you.

I have a 10 month old male golden retriever mix. He has a genetic fear based aggression issue that I am working on correcting. I would like to get another dog, but knowing that dogs learn from one another, would he teach this to another dog that I bring into the house? I don't want to have 2 difficult dogs, one is enough, but I would like to have a "normal" dog, that I can walk, and take to the park and stuff. Plus he would have a playmate and I'm sure he would love it!

My 2yr old Miniature Pinscher is very protective of me. When the doorbell rings, he goes nuts. He barks, sometimes bares his teeth, and really freaks out the people at the door. I think it has to do with the fact that there is evidence that his previous owner abused him, plus the fact that his cousin the Doberman are commonly used as guard dogs. How can I change this behavior, and make him into the good dog I know he can be?

i have a 6month old irish setter and recently he's refusing his food or just touching it, he is still active, has had his vacinations, he is vomiting now and then sometimes trying to vomit but failing to do so, he's been on and off like this for the past week, at first i thaught that he had an upset stomach but now i dont know what to think. he seems fine every other time but just wont eat his food, it aint anything to do with the brand of food as he gets fed fresh beef and rabbit, he had a bad night last week where i was up most of the night with him because he was being sick a lot all night but was ok in the morning. i was wondering if that night could have had some affect on him as he is a sensitive breed of dog. Any suggestions please?

I don't want to be cruel to the dog, but I've been told that once trained, it can hold its potty for 11 hours. We'd aim to leave it in a crate until it is fully house trained and content with us being away for such long periods. This will be our first experience of owning a dog, but both me and my wife are very keen. We have a fenced yard, but no place for a doggy door. We live in Texas - so very hot summers.
