Right, firstly don't listen to all that negative cr@p people have been saying!!

I'm from the Channel Islands and I got my Chihuahua from a lady in Southampton for £800. They range from £800 up to around £1400 generally depending on blood line, whether they are KC registered etc.

My Chihuahua is incredibly friendly, fit and does not act like a lap dog or whatever people think they do. She can go for really long walks, plays with a ball (admitidly a small one!) actually she does everything any other dog would do just on a smaller scale and is never snappy or yappy. She's the same as any "real dog" just smaller.

I got mine through the Kennel Club but my friend has one she got from E Pups a UK website (www.epupz.co.uk) then do search for puppy/dog . . .there are lods of Chihuahua's on it from the uk

Don't listen to horrible things people say about Chihuahua's they are lovely dogs, if you want to know anything else e-mail me via my profil here, I could talk about Chi's all day!!!

Chihuahuas need a lot of attention and should not be left alone for long durations while you work or go to school. They can be tempermental and better off in a home without little kids. If you are seriously consdiering this you should go look at the chihuahuagroup@yahoo.com. you can ask and read questions others have asked. They are very helpful and can assist in this important decision. All puppies need a lot of love and you must be able to afford any vet bills, food, time and care before you take on this huge responsibility. They can also be the best friend you'll ever have but you must be willing to commit to their well being for their entire life, even in old age. Its like having a child that never grows up, unlike human babies, it will always rely on you for the support of its life.

Prices vary from around $300-$700 or more depends on who you buy the dog from.
Chis can be prone to epilepsy and have an open fontanel which is a soft spot on the skull. They can be very stubborn and are hard to housebreak. Most are spoiled as they are tiny and people are not willing to work with them to train them so they let the dog rule the house and these little guy will od just that if you let them.
They are not the best dog for kids as they are tiny and can be injured very easily.
They can be very picky eaters and eople will often feed them human food and not dog food. Many have skin and allergy issues.
Do some research at www.akc.org on the breed before you buy as they have some health issues and may require lots of vet care.

I am a Dog Trainer and my experience with these dogs has been as follows. These dogs are very delicate and can break a leg just by jumping off of a couch sometimes. These dogs also have the delusion that they are large and will try to take on a large dog by barking, so extra care needs to be taken when allowing them to play with larger dogs. Also, children under 5 or 6 playing with the dog should be supervised to avoid ruff play that could harm the dog. Chihuahuas run about $550 all the way up to $1000, this depends on the breeder you select.

i know that they are expensive cause i own a teacup chihuahua and they donot really need and special treatment if you get a female and you want to mate her and have puppies that's when you might run into some medical problems depends on the breed of chihuahua. If u get a smaller breed of chihuahua like a teacup than you will have problems but if you get a toy size chihuahua than you will be fine if you want to breed her.but besides that the donot need any spacial treatment

My mother-in-law has 2 chihuahuas. They are great dogs. They can cost around 200-300 dollars. You may find them a little cheaper in the newspaper. They just want TLC like all other animals.

As a breed I don't know much I'm afraid but I do know that they cost around the £1000-£1500.00p range as someone I know bought one recently. A good site to visit for information is.

They do not have any special needs. They are very expensive. (My father bought one for my mother in the late 60's and it cost him £35.00p then) They are a very very snappy dog unless the one my mum had was an exception.
