I just got my yorkie yesterday, we already took him to the vet. He is 3 mts old. They said he is healthy but he does have a caugh he is taking medication for. He seems happy, he is playing all the time and eating well. Lastnight he had his first bow movement and it was pretty soft. Toward the end, I noticed just a little bit of blood spots on the floor like it just dripped out. Is this normal or should I contact my vet. They did not ask for a stool sample, should I take them one just incase?

Take him to the vet. I would try to take them a stool sample. This could be from parasites or something worse.

Sometimes when the gut wall lining gets inflamed, you will find some blood in the stool.

Irregardless, it is time for a trip to the vet. Make sure to take a fresh sample of poopy with so they can put it under the microscope and make sure it isn't worms, parasites, parvo, etc.

Would suggest you change Vet,a fecal(Stool Sample) is needed, and that should have been the first thing your vet should have done on examination of this pet.Blood in stool isn't normal and is a sign of Worms, cocci, gerdia,or something very serious. If this pet isn't checked thoroughly with a fecal it could possibly die,as blood in stool is something that needs to be addressed promptly.

You should definitely take your Dog to the Vet right away. Blood in the stool is NEVER a good sign. And they need a fresh, fresh stool sample if they ask for one. They will either take you dog outside and let him go there and get his sample that way, or send you home and get it right away and then bring it to the vets as fast as you can.

When my dog needed a urine sample he wouldn't go for the vet, so my Mom took it at home, and as soon as she got it she took it over to the vets right away.

Hope it's nothing serious, my best wishes to you and your pup.

ok.... for stuff like this, you ought to no longer be occurring your pc, you ought to be occurring your vet. that's advisable to flow in ASAP (emergency) using fact if a shard of plastic is suck interior someplace, probability is he ought to completely bleed to dying on the interior. particularly if its a yorkie and its dripping blood, using fact they dont have lots blood first of all. Take it to the vet, dont look ahead to human beings's solutions, using fact no person here can certainly help get plastic out of your canines insides. you're able to wish surgical operation. i does no longer feed cotton balls, considering that could merely make issues worse. call your vet, ask what to do. in the event that they say convey him in, then do it. in the event that they inform you hes effective, then dont. yet call your vet, no longer the persons here.

Do YOU think it is NORMAL to have blood in your stool??????
Contact the vet. You can at least drop off a poop sample. Shame on them for not asking for one, or worming the puppy anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is just standard for puppies!!!

Not at all, if it is red blood that is serious take him now, generally that can be cauterized. It could be minor but the dog is too young and small to take chances
