My border collie is in heat for the first time. She is in her 2nd week of the period and has become very whiny and seem uncomfortable. Could it be cramps or muscle aches?

I think so they go through a normal menstral cycle. Make sure if you are going to have puppies with her to keep her away from un - nuetered male dogs. My dog developed an ovarian cyst and we had to have major surjery because she was not spade
