I broke a mercury thermometer and one of my 2 dogs swallowed the liquid mercury that came out of the tip. Do I have to worry? Some web sites say it is OK, some websites say it is toxic and needs to be treated.

It is toxic! Whoever said it isn't toxic is stupid. Mercury is toxic. Call the vet NOW!!!
