I am looking for another Great Dane for a companion for my Great Dane "Sarge". He is lonely cuz he's not exactly little anymore, and we work a lot now, and I would like for him to have a friend. I would prefer a Female, so he can get that hyperness he has out of him also...so if you live around or in alabama or Georiga or even the bottom of tennessee on the East side, let me know..can pay up to 200 or would like for Cheaper or free..thanks!

You need to seriously consider wanting a female. You will need to be prepared for lots of puppies if you don't have them spayed/nuetered. Breeding dogs take a lot of time, money, and responsibility as well as sometimes heartache.
If you purchase one from a breeder, I seriously doubt that you will find one for under $200. If you get one from a pound or a rescue, you will be required to have them spayed/neutered anyway, and once spayed, a female usually isn't receptive to a male.
Now, I would suggest you going to your local pound and put a notice that if a great dane comes in, that you want it. Also put ads online and in the newspapers where you live stating that you want a dane for up to $200. I would also look at some rescue sites.

For that price, you will have to go to breed rescue - unless you settle for a dog out of someone's backyard who didn't bother to make sure the parents were free of hereditary health problems like hip dysplasia - rampant in the breed. (A dog can have and not show the signs like limping but then they appear later. They PASS it on.)

Or the even worse choice - mills where the parents are locked in cages, bred until they literally die from it, never vaccinated, never wormed, fed jsut enough so they don't quite die of starvation, live in filth, never bathed or groomed or cared for, are typically of very poor genetic stock both physically and often mentally. The puppies are shoved off to pet stores with no vaccinations, no wormng, no socialization or handling... You are buying nothing but hearbreak at a price higher than what a responsible breeder charged for a pet puppy.

Rescue is definitely the best option.

Do give serious thought to adopting from an adult from a breed rescue. The clubs' breed rescues go to a great deal of trouble to determine the dog's temperrment, personality, likes and dislikes (particularly kids and cats and other dogs in the household), HEALTH, and level of training. They make a huge effort to match the right dog to the right home - and if they don't have one they think will be suitable for your home, they won't place it. Great way to avoid the puppy training, newspapers, chewing.......They have dogs that are purebred and part-bred (1/2 or so of their breed.) Dogs that come through rescue are so thrilled to have a forever loving home having once been abandoned to a shelter or rescue that they are typically extra devoted and loving. Dogs lose their homes for reason that are not their fault: death, divorce, a move and they couldn’t keep them, financial problems….

there are several breeders here in Birmingham, pups are in the paper and I know there are breeders in Auburn that raise the blues and harlequins
if you can't find another dane, what about a greyhound? you can adopt from the rescue organization here, they are wonderful dogs
