No, dogs that don't mate actually live longer healthier lives than those that do. If you get him fixed, he'll be less likely to get cancer at a young age or any other disease.

The answer is No. No side effects will take place nor will be seen from him being a virgin. Every now and then he might try to hump your leg or arm but not as often as people make it out to be. He WILL be alwasy alert and noisy when you or "guests" arrive. Other than that, he will be fine. Once a month after 5 years old just check his nuts for lumps or swells to make sure he hasn't develped a lump or swell (COULD be cancer but not always) Think of it like this "how can you miss something you never knew or had". He hasn't done the dirty so he doesnt' really know what it is yet.
As for everyone here that INSISTS on getting dogs neutered..... tell them to shut up and mind their own dogs which they probably couldn't control so they chose drastic steps. Truth, teh only reasons to neuter a dog are to control is tosterone(which if you are a good handler you can with or without neutering) and to insure the dog doesn't breed (which again, if you control your dog, it won't happen) I've owned over 30 dogs in the last 20 years (various numbers at various times) and I have NEVER had a problem with ANY of my dogs. Never had any of them neutered.

NO NO NO

Only good thing slike not bolting off to chase female dogs and getting in fights with other males

Like not peeing and marking all over the house

Now, if you really want to help his health, go get him neutered and avoid testicular and prostate cancer - both very very common in unneutered males

Unless his is an AKC champion, there is no point in breeding him. He won't get any bookings from responsible breeders; and the odd $25 or $75 (less the cost of a newspaper ad) for the very very infrequent pet breeder is not worth the aggravation of an intact male who gets dog aggressive, runs off chasing females (and usually gets hit by a car) and sprays urine all over your house.

If he's not fixed...being a "virgin" will not cause any harm. But not being neutered could harm him in the long run. He could have problems when he gets older...even getting testicular cancer. The chances increase the older he gets if he's not fixed. He will probably mark his territory all over the place and hump legs. But no, him being a virgin will not cause harm, but him not being neutered can.

My neighbors dog (growing up) was a small poodle. He was bred at the kennel while they were on vacation. He came back a horny, leg humping dirty little old man. But I guess he had a nice vacation.
